No surprise there. It was with reason that he originally went to Miami.

Now I'm reading FF and it sounds like the Packers didn't sign him. :/

I will make a prediction now that Jamarko Simmons takes the #5 WR job from Ruvell Martin. 4.54 40 at 6-2/234, I am very surprised he went undrafted.

Jamarko Simmons/WR/Western Michigan: The Broncos big possession receiver weighed 231 pounds then ran a terrific 40, stopping watches at 4.54 seconds. His vertical was 33-inches, broad 9-11 and he completed 19 reps on the bench. Simmons was put through a 25-minute session of receiver drills and looked terrific catching the ball.

Wow. An old friend/teammate of mine Scott Witte got the invite to try out from River Falls. That one was a bit out of left field but I couldn't be happier for him.

He has the size and work-ethic but I didn't know he was on anyone's radar.

Wouldn't surprise me. This guy might be able to do comparable things in the near future and he could come cheap for the next four seasons. Martin is almost a lock to be gone in '10.

If any place would be good for Williams, it would be Green Bay.
Interesting stuff, when would we know for sure if anyone signed him.

Why in the world wasn't Jamarko Simmons drafted?

Yeah, I saw that too. For an UDFA, it's really a shame they don't bring this guy in. He's gotta be close to the ultimate no risk, possible high reward guy. Bring him in, see how he looks, have him stick around Driver for awhile. If he shows signs, stow him on the PS. If he doesn't, no harm, no foul in bringing him in.

Good read on Simmons. My money is on him taking the #5 WR spot.

Yeah I was going to post that in my original post as well. I've seen Simmons play several times and I know he can make it in this league as a #4 WR.

How can you not love a LB-sized WR who still runs in the 4.5s and has "excellent, excellent" hands? And who broke a bunch of Jennings' records? I'm eager to see this kid play, see if he looks as good as he sounds. Doesn't seem possible, though.
