I agree the nba should have avoided this, but you do realize that the only stat you guys won was made free throws, if not for the intentional fouls at the end the bulls would have had less attempts. and boston is by far the more physical team.

Like someone else said: The NON calls on Pierce's drives to the hoop (I counted at least 4 of them in the first half)..and Perkins BOGUS 6th foul were HORRIBLE...other than that--it was fairly reffed.

According to the actual definition of the foul, you cannot place your legs outside your shoulder width while setting a screen. You are actually criticizing the refs for making the correct call.

4 non-calls on pierce is such a ridiculous statement. They weren't calling contact in the lane i.e. no-call on Hinrich's offensive rebound, not a single trip to the line late for Gordon etc.

The steal foul with pierce on salmons was total bull I agree; however, pierce was standing out of bounds and it would've been bulls ball with 1 second off the clock and the celtics having to foul
anyway.

It's obvious the benefit of the doubt always goes to the hometeam. The Bulls did get some calls yesterday, but that didn't win them the game.

Likewise, the Celtics did get some calls in game 2, but that didn't win them the game.

As for the posts that argue that Pierce is an "unrespected star", maybe if he didn't yell and cry for a foul on every single possession he might get a few more calls.

PP, Ray and KG can all get calls IMHO. But its predictable they wont get them in a Bulls "must win" situation. People think Stern was "stupid" to let two NBA refs from Chicago call the game. But Stern isn't stupid.

I dont think the NBA cheats directly they are just smart enough to understand bias and use it. I am sure most every single NBA ref thinks they are above bias. But research points to the idea that people are effected by the home crowd. The home town bias is like icing on the cake..

The NBA gets what they want - a longer series. And any potential bias is ignored by fans who chalk up any Boston gripes as "whining" Its a win win for a business like the NBA. Some fans might gripe about the officials but we still watch.. Thats all they care about.

That "clear path violation" against Baby, as well as that "foul" on Gordon when Baby backed all the way away and Gordon play-acted his big fall, was a **** travesty...

By far the worst officiated sport of all the majors....baseball umps, who have the most error-prone instances (safe/out, subjective strike-zones) do WAY better...

Baseball umps also have 5 minutes between each call. And hardly ever move from one place.

There greatest challenge should be to not fall asleep before the end of the game.

Never umped before have you? Baseball umps have so much stuff going on in one play, and, they also don't know where the ball or the players are going. Baseball is a difficult sport to ump. Go to a minor league game and watch how much running the umps do. They have to essentially play the game like a fielder. If it's deep in the corner and a guy goes for a triple, you have so many responsibilities. Even a 4 man crew has a lot to handle.

These guys are very good, especially when you consider how poorly NBA refs are. If you think the NBA is bad, check out college. NCAA refs thinks a charge should be called every time.
