Someone made an interesting comment below one of the stories on National Football Post... If the Packers don't trade Favre to New York and Favre doesn't retire this year, the Jets probably don't trade up Sanchez, and the Browns probably take Raji at 5, so one might consider Raji to be Favre's parting gift.

I think the Jets would have done whatever it takes to get Sanchez. So they keep Pennington and I doubt they're any better. They're still looking for a QB of the future this offseason.

Perhaps, but who knows? If Favre doesn't choke down the stretch Mangini still has his job in New York and he seems enamored enough with Ratliff that maybe they don't go after Sanchez? I'm just saying that without the whole Favre trade, things might have shaken out differently, and Raji might not have been there to draft.
