Adam Morrison's Future?

Post#1 » by GonzagaLove » Mon Apr 27, 2009 4:54 pm

Im just wondering what Morrison's future is going to be like. Does his contract expire after this year? Or is there an option for a 4th year? Do you think a team will sign him this offseason?

seeing the awesome minutes he is getting.. i don't think he'll have a future with the lakers. I'm pretty sure Shannon is getting minutes because he's doing very well in practice to allow Phil to put him in... If Ammo did well then i think he would have been playing some minutes by now (or maybe it's because we already have too many players in that role already)...

from ammo to slammo... that's gotta hurt.

I said it in a similar thread a few days ago and I'll say it here, IMO Ammo's lack of time is situational and not a representation of his abilities.

Shannon got minutes b/c Jordan sucks, then he produced well and earned more time. Ammo will not get the same opportunity this season b/c we have Trevor and Luke both playing well enough. Simple as that, no need to make more of it.

Whether we keep (doubtful) or not, says little to nothing about his abilities.

Next year. He'll have a full training camp and the chance to take Luke Walton's spot. It's up to him how much work he puts in during the summer to get better.

Morrison's greatest asset to this team is that he might be valuable to ANOTHER team as an expiring contract. Hopefully he can be packaged with an undesirable player (Walton or Vujacic -- prefereably Walton) so we can save money in the long term to sign guys like Kidd, Odom, Ariza, Shannon Brown, Powell, and Mbenga in the short term.

Ammo should get his chance some time early in the 2nd Quarter with Luke being out again.

bet he won't

i doubt he stays with the team, they'll look to move his expiring, the point of the salary dump isn't to end up signing him

He'll need summer camp to grasp the tri. When he did get opportunities in the past few months he always looked lost on both ends. Unfortunately, even if he was suiting up, the Lakers are blowing huge leads and the 3rd teamers don't get any playing time.

He has one more year with the team unless we can trade him, he must even know that. Everytime I see him on the bench he's smiling.

You guys think he will last the whole year? Maybe if the draft is awful and they do find anybody in summer league and Ammo works his ass off and becomes a little faster somehow, maybe if Kobe takes him under his wing and he works out with Kobe with his draft status they might keep him around.

I doubt it though cause i think he will be playing with Smush Parker soon.

i'd like to see what ammo has to offer now that luke's out. however, if the interviews right after the trade indicated anything then adam is gone and he knows it. shannon was soo happy and pumped to be with the lakers whereas ammo was quiet, reserved, and looked uncertain. maybe that's his personality but if it isn't then he knew he''ll be riding the bench forever

Morrison just needs to look at Kyle Korver to see his future in the NBA. And I mean that in the best way possible.

If he could come off the bench and hit a couple high percentage threes a game, he would earn a spot in our rotation.

Miles I don't mean to correct you because your the smartest guy here by miles (no pun intended) and far smarter then me but as everybody seems to know I have been watching Bobcats games and been on the Board also and they talk about him on tv here and I saw him many times and he is not a pure shooter ala Korver. That is not his future. He wasn't a 3 point shooter/pure shooter he is a scorer.
Alot of people have that misconsemption including me but I have learned that in college and in the pro's he was a scorer not a pure shooter.
As a scorer though he sucks and as of every part of his game he sucks. Korver is fast and athletic enough to play and Ammo isn't.
Ammo is weak mentally and physically.
