Has he emerged overnight? He's been kinda doing this all season, just he's playing 45 minutes a game instead of 32.

Look at his gamelogs. All the games he plays 40 minutes he puts up gaudy stats. He's been great all season long. Adjust his season stats to 43.3 minutes a game and he averages 17 points, 11.8 assists, 7.5 rebounds a game. He's just been awesome all season long.

^ he is indeed, getting that ring last season was the best thing that could of happened to him early in his career... he plays with the swagger of a winner now, and looks like he'll keep developing

hopefully another big game from him tongiht

No amount of love for Rondo could ever make up for how criminally underrated he was all last season. He had more pressure on him than any PG in the league by far as a 2nd year PG who had to distribute the ball to three guys who were all used to being the #1 option...and he won an NBA Championship. The fact that he's only getting the deserved recognition now is a joke.

Great read Elrod, I for one am far from tired of hearing about Rondo, as a matter of fact I'm hoping to hear about him leading the green for the next decade.

He's continuing to play great and making his mark as a legit star - it would be shocking if he doesn't make the all star team next year I think.

On the downside, he's getting guarded closer, and the jumpshots aren't really there anymore...he's still getting near triple doubles, but it doesn't feel like he's dominating like he was the first few games - I think it's just psychological that it feels like he's plateaued for the series!

The Celtics needed Perk and Rondo to improve this year and they both did. Rondo has exceeded expectations, big time. Two solid defenders which we need to hang on to.

Perk is having a great series and a great year and next year will get his due as a very good big man and if the refs get off his **** a bit will be big. His has shown he has more moves in his O game. KG and he will be a bigger force then ever next season.

I wonder about the free throws and jumpshot... I actually read that article before the game started... so my eyes were on Rondo all night.

Rose is already a much better jumpshooter then Rondo in the mid-range... but Rondo hit about 2 threes and knock down a clutch jumper as well as those clutch free throws...

I know he's going to be near all-star material [only thing stoping him is I don't think he'll ever be a go to guy at the end of games]... but I'm starting to think... maybe we should let Ray Allen expire hope to sign him for 5 million. And be prepared to pay Rondo 12~15 million...

When is the last time the Celtics drafted a PG as good as Rondo? This may be it. Between getting a championship and getting a steal on draft day like Rondo... Ainge may have immortalized himself as a Celtics GM.

Cousy, I guess.

Great read, Elrod. I'm sure non-Celtics fans will object to some of your grandiose predictions but the sky is the limit for this kid.

Man, you guys and your "us against the world" attitude, lol. Here's a non celtic fan (Bulls fan, at that) that already thinks this kid is the best defensive PG in the entire league. I hate his guts right now, but even in this state of mind I'll give him that. He better be an all star next year.
