Seattle (12-7) @ ChiSox (9-9)

Post#1 » by TTown » Mon Apr 27, 2009 1:26 am

Chris Jakubauskas (1-2, 7.11 ERA) vs. John Danks (2-0, 0.95 ERA)
Felix Hernandez (3-0, 3.12 ERA) vs. Bartolo Colón (1-1, 6.14 ERA)
Erik Bedard (2-1, 2.08 ERA) vs. Gavin Floyd (2-2, 5.79 ERA)

Well, the opener might be rough, but I'll take Felix and Bedard over just about anyone, and they both pitch in this series.

just looking at the pitching matchups the M's should go 2-1.

Yeah, Danks will destroy the M's, but we still have a fantastic shot at taking the series.

Of course, I'm hoping for a lucky-as-hell game one win in the series, thus giving us a strong shot at winning the series, possibly even a sweep.

I can dream, can't I?

A monsoon has hit Chicago. We're 30 minutes into a delay.

Is Felix our starter next game?

Bartolo Colon's fat ass is still in the league?

I'm hoping we just skip Jak in this series and go to Felix.

Looks like they flipped the matchups...Felix will now go against Danks, while Jakubauskas goes against Colon.

We have the worst offense in the history of baseball.

However, my confidence in Jak has been restored.

He pitched great, no question about it. Sadly, so did Colon. I thought Sweeney was going to line a double and give the M's the lead in the 9th, but alas.

Okay, when you're completely owned by the bloated corpse of Bartolo Colon, it's time to upgrade your offense. Sucks that they wasted a good start by Jakovasaurus.

Just to prove how quirky a game this is, an hour after getting shut down by Colon, the M's have put up 5 runs on Danks in 3 1/3 inning, highlighted by a 3-run Yuni blast. And the bases are loaded as I type this.

How do they upgrade it? Clement's starting to hit a bit in Tacoma...I wouldn't mind seeing him called up and split time with Johnson for the time being. Putting Balentien or Sweeney at DH wouldn't hurt...Griffey's not doing a whole lot.

If Griffey, Beltre, and Lopez were to start hitting even a little bit it would help tremendously.

Mariners win 9-1. Felix throws 8 shutout innings, scattering 4 hits. Up to 4-0 with a 2.38 ERA after tonight's dominance. Yuni was 4/5 with a HR and 5 RBIs. Branyan 5/5.

M's go to 13-8. Series finale tomorrow. Go Bedard!

Well we certainly had the chance to win that lucky game with our fifth starter. But we got the split. Now make me happy and win the series.

Go Bedard!

to bad the mariners dropped the first game of any series this year but that was bound to happen. Hopefully they can rally back and win this rubber game.
