Re: CAT CHAMPIONSHIP--Gremz vs. BBHoffa
The important question is for Gremz: does KG intend to get down on all fours and bark at Dwight to throw him off his game? Of course with Dwight's current mood that could get him knocked out...
Fair warning, I'm a Bulls fan, your Celtics are now a disadvantage!
Fair warning #2, my internet is down at home, which is making writing my thesis fun. I'll have to judge it when I'm at work.
Fair warning #3, I have a concussion, so I can't be blamed for my bias against DCash for once.

Hahaha that's awesome. We'll just blame it on the concussion. Also, I'm a Bulls fan too... but living in Boston. This last week or so has been crazy. Getting harassed via text, calls, shouting etc. Mostly containing "F Ben Gordon" hahaha. Everyone here is ready to give Rondo the title of "best player ever for the Celtics." It's ONE series.
Regarding the game.... is Cash in or not?

TMACFORMVP is a very good option. I've participated in many Keeper Leagues with him and the guy knows his s***. Sabasrevenge! is also another good option, quality guy also.

Re: CAT CHAMPIONSHIP--Gremz vs. BBHoffa
defense: first and foremost, kobe will be faced with one of the few players in the league that have been able to make him work for every point he gets in shane battier, who will be relieved by good defender in manu. rondo will be matched up with a player that can equal his quickness in monta ellis. iggy's athleticism will be matched with a very good defender in granger. garnett will be checked by one of the more savvy pf defenders in scola/camby, and horford won't be able to do much against a legit center in yao.
Bryant has averaged 30ppg against Battier this season, and holds a career average of 29.0ppg against Battier. Not exactly the stats that would convince me to believe Battier can hold him. It's fairly obvious that there is little across the league to prevent Kobe, especially with those numbers.
As for Garnett he still manages to get up 21.5ppg and 11.4rpg against Camby on .511FG%, and against Scola it's a 20.0ppg and 9.8rpg on .500FG%. So in honesty our superstars will be hardly limited in this series.
offense: my team's attack will come down to my opponent not having a single big man that can come close to slowing down yao. horford is not a legit center when compared to yao, and his other big men don't bring the size either. at pf, scola has become a deadly midrange shooter, who's chemistry with yao will lead to either one on one work for yao on horford/foster, or wide open jumpers for scola when kg helps. kobe/iggy will not be able to help off their man, as battier is a very good 3 pt shooter, manu can attack the rim with the best of them, and granger has all the tools to keep iggy busy. off the bench, bynum will be used to keep the paint scoring going against a rather small team.
Slowing Yao is easy, simply front the guy! His lack of success has always come from having a man stay in his way to the basket, in which we have a perfect option in Horford. His bruising body will restrict all movement forward and make him complete his baskets from range.
As for Bynum, he has been limited by minutes lately due to injury. I doubt he will suffice to be a major threat in this series.

Well why else would i draft him?
Fair warning, I'm a Bulls fan, your Celtics are now a disadvantage!
Great story, if your Bulls can't take care of the Celtics without Garnett it's not my fault.

Uhhh, get a better internet connection?

So you're blaming me this time? Typical.

this yr is when artest took over the job, partly due to ego i assume.
last yr when the rockets exclusively went with battier, kobe shot 13 for 32, 11 for 23, and 11 for 33.
and as far as KG is concerned, just like you mention bynum being limited, KG has been in a total of 4 games since u drafted him for 9ppg and 4.5 rpg
offense: my team's attack will come down to my opponent not having a single big man that can come close to slowing down yao. horford is not a legit center when compared to yao, and his other big men don't bring the size either. at pf, scola has become a deadly midrange shooter, who's chemistry with yao will lead to either one on one work for yao on horford/foster, or wide open jumpers for scola when kg helps. kobe/iggy will not be able to help off their man, as battier is a very good 3 pt shooter, manu can attack the rim with the best of them, and granger has all the tools to keep iggy busy. off the bench, bynum will be used to keep the paint scoring going against a rather small team.

yao vs atl this yr avg'd 20 ppg on 56% shooting. last yr in his game against horford he went 12-17 for 28 pts. horford isn't really going to be effective, and if fronting him were so easy, horford and your asst. coach mike woodson wouldn't let him go for such impressive numbers.

I could be wrong, but wasn't Bynum under injury cloud when he was drafted? Forgive me if i am incorrect here.
As for Garnett, he was healthy when i had drafted him.

yes, bynum was hurt, and i took a gamble that he'd be back to form by the time judging came along. he hasn't been as impressive, but luckily i drafted a great crop of big men (yao, scola, thomas, camby) that it doesn't really affect my depth too much. as far as KG, you drafted him march 23rd, in the middle of a 4 game comeback where he averaged 9 ppg and 4.5 rpg. he had missed about 15 games before that and has missed every game since, so i think its a gamble you took and lost as well. scola should be considered a superior player to KG here.

Re: CAT CHAMPIONSHIP--Gremz vs. BBHoffa
I don't know about the other judges, but i'm judging Garnett and Bynum on their seasons, not just the games once they came back. (Unless i'm told otherwise), especially in Garnett's case, the Celtics were pretty shady about his injury prior to him being out in the POs. Hell, they're STILL being shady.
And Gremz, unless you're a ghetto kid that doesn't like getting torched by the white kid on a basketball court, I'm not blaming my concussion on you. FYI, I'm reviewing write-ups and rebuttals tomorrow and judging tomorrow, so get your arguments in tonight!

Re: CAT CHAMPIONSHIP--Due Today!!!
Frontcourt Offense
Andre Iguodala/Kevin Garnett Vs Carmelo Anthony/Josh Smith
Due to Garnett being guarded by Howard i see little output from him on the offensive end as he has had little success in both rebound and scoring against a bigger men like Howard. And i have to give the edge to Anthony over Iggy due to Melo is a terrific scorer and him not being double teamed might be the difference maker in this series.
Adv: Ron Jeremy Productions
I find it hard to see Dwight following Garnett in this series. Garnett is an extremely intelligent basketball player, he will be more than capable of operating from mid range, considering Howard will very rarely follow him out due to his paint presence. Garnett's offense will be a major factor.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My rebuttel
I would like to share some quotes from some NBA Superstars:
Tim Duncan once remarked in 2007: "[Howard] is so developed... He has so much promise and I am glad that I will be out of the league when he is peaking."[42] Kevin Garnett echoed those sentiments: "[Howard] is a freak of nature, man... I was nowhere near that physically talented. I wasn't that gifted, as far as body and physical presence."[42] Subsequent to a game in the 2009 NBA Playoffs, Philadelphia 76ers swingman Andre Iguodala remarked: "It's like he can guard two guys at once. He can guard his guy and the guy coming off the pick-and-roll, which is almost impossible to do... If he gets any more athletic or jumps any higher, they're going to have to change the rules."[5] As early as December 2007, ESPN writer David Thorpe declared Howard to be the most dominant center in the NBA.[43]
During this recent season KG had poor outings when he was facing the Celtics, 1 of the games coming early this season, and the other one coming when i think he got injured in.
Bench
Jarrett Jack/Grant Hill/Udonis Haslem/JR Smith Vs Derek Fisher/Raja Bell/Shawn Marion/Paul Millsap/Nene
My bench i feel plays an important role in this series as the backcourt offense i may lack in the starting lineup can me made up when my bench players get out their on the floor.
Adv: Ron Jeremy
Your overall bench talent does indeed trump mine, but you are running an 11 man rotation.
By doing this you're taking quality time away from your starters and messing with chemistry, so in effect the bonus is nullifying itself here.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My rebuttel
I beleive my most effective players will be out on the floor at most times with both Dwight/Melo playing 40 minutes as well as smith in the high 30's. The only 2 position where there is significant minutes gievn to the bench players are the backcourt. I beleive to contain the speed of rondo, kidd may become fatigued and i am confident Derek Fisher can come off the bench and provide some quality monutes at the Point. and i am basically splitting the minutes for Martin/Bell due to the fact i dont want Kobe to be getting used to being guarded by the same player.

TMac you are in... Whats your aim? I am going to push back the voting until Sunday to give everyone ample time to judge with the few twist we have had in the last couple of days.
Cellar is correct about the judging. Judge based upon their season.

Re: CAT CHAMPIONSHIP--Due Today!!!
Hoffa vs. Gremz
Garnett was the wild card in this series in my opinion. If Garnett would have been healthy all season, and played at least some playoff time, I would have probably went with Gremz. However, I just don't see how his front court is going to pair up well with Howard and Josh Smith. Howard is going to go absolutely nuts in this series. Plus Nene coming off the bench. Nene is force to be reckoned with. (Ask Dirk and Dampier) I like each of Gremz's 1-3 individually but I don't like Kobe and Iggy playing on the same team, Iggy just doesn't have the consistancy from behind the arc that I think should be paired up with Kobe. Both team's would be hell to face but, I'm going with Hoffa in 7 in this series.
I can only imagine the games Kidd/Fisher are going to have with Melo/Howard.... Scary.
