Cruz can be pretty wild, but he's very hard to hit...here's hoping that the Jays show a little patience in the 9th.

1st place gone. Could be back 1 game of Sox and only up 2 games on Yanks after tonight. Glad we don't go to K.C again this season.

6 double plays?? Geezus. But you know, that still makes it sort of a "good" loss. If you're competitive like that for 162 games, you'll win your share.

Yeah, I don't understand the thought process at all. He was getting owned in AAA, and in the majors last year so I don't know how they thought he'd possibly do anything good now. Even if they didn't want to bring up Cecil/Mills, I'm positive there are 20 guys better than Burres in our farm system right now.

We'd be better with ME getting up on the mound... I've at least got more of a chance of hitting the f'g strike zone with my knuckleball than this twit does at throwing something other than a meatball.

A couple of things...

#1. We really could have used that rain. There aren't words to describe how bad a pitcher Brian Burres is. I can't believe this team started him, and will probably do it again.

#2. Cito is a very bad in-game manager. He may have cost us the game today by not pinch hitting Overbay for Chavez.

Overall, this series sucked and we lost our grip on 1st place, but this is what happens when you have a patchwork rotation. At least Halladay starts tomorrow...

Brian Burres has no redeeming qualities as a pitcher. He can't throw strikes, and when he does, his poor stuff is hit hard in the air.

Its good to see the game was close despite having the worst pitcher in baseball on the mound and grounding into a record breaking amount of double plays

Anyone listening to Wilner's show now? Pure jokes. Some guy calling in who met a spring training player Wilner has never heard of. And he says he talked to Dustin McGowan at a BBQ last week and Dustin's coming back soon.

I just noticed the final score and I'm happy we made it a close game.

It's just disappointing knowing if it wasn't for the first few innings with Burres that we could of won today.

I'm glad I didn't see the game today after reading through the game thread. I don't think I could have dealt with the aggravation of a game like that. It almost seems like it was a game from last season with all the double plays you guys mentioned.

I guess that's the end then. I'll see you guys next season... i mean next series :)

So, what was the caller saying again? Something about this guy being at the Jays' camp? But he's only listed in the link as being in the A's organization.

Also, was there some Jays BBQ last weekend that Dustin McGowan would have been at?

Jays pick 1B Colamarino via Rule-5: The Blue Jays picked 1B Brant Colamarino from the A's in the Triple-A phase of the Rule-5 draft.

What a disappointing series. It's alright though, sh*t happens. With the Bosox getting housed tonight, we're still tied atop the AL East.

A clean sweep of the O's will cleanse the palate of any sourness left from watching Brian Burres pick up a baseball.
