I really feel bad for Ray

He played his heart out. He is the best player in this whole series but Doc totally ignored him down the stretch.

He should really be mad and complain about his role in 3 OTs. He was playing like Bird, Jordan, he should´ve won or lost the game for us, not Rondo.

Couldn't have said it better. Rondo has been great through the series but creating for himself simply was not working tonight. P2 fouling out was big though (obviously). I think Doc thought way too much into this. Since he fouled out he figured everyone would go after Ray, so he countered by not going to Ray and going to Rondo instead. Clearly, did not work.

Even if Paul did not foul out, Ray still should've been the FIRST option. I know Paul has been clutch and such before. But you got to be smart and go to the hot hand. PP clearly was laboring and can't even shake off a small guard on him.

The original post and this post say it all, and Doc admittied as much in his post game interview.

I think Doc over thought this one. Give it to Ray and let him win or lose it.

It's so frustrating to think that, during the regular season and this playoff series so far, down the stretch, almost every time when we went to Ray, we got amazing result from him. Why not go to him more?! You stupid a$$ Doc.

Bulls fan here. Ray Allen is a monster..wow. I said it on our board during the game, i dont understand how one can get so good at shooting a basketball..anyone who has played the sport on a competitive level can attest to this..it boggles my mind, shot after shot after shot..open shots, contested shots, really contested shots..no effect on the guy.. The guy is clutch and no 3 pt lead is safe when he's on

mad props to Shuttlesworth

I don't know why the Celtics went to Pierce isolation so much from the late 4th through the 3 overtimes. Ray Allen was clearly hitting everything even with people right in his mug. But instead of milking those screens and weaves, they kept bogging it down for Pierce and lots of Rondo dribbling and dump offs to Big Baby and the like.

Allen was even open on several of the key plays that could have ended the game that Boston missed.

Well, what do you expect from a STUPID coach like Doc? Someone left a memo on his notebook that PP is the truth, so he followed it no matter what. LOL. Seriously, everytime I saw we went for PP iso I was sick to my stomach... NOT AGAIN!

I'm sure someone has already mentioned this, but Vinny & Doc are some of the worst coaches in the game right now. A coach like Popovich would have finished this series way earlier that G7. The players are hitting game tying shot after shot because of the ineptitude of the coaches...

wow such a heartbreaking loss and a wasted effort from mr.clutch RAY ALLEN. I just hope ray isn't to worn out for game 7 since he played 58 minutes tonight.

I am glad your coach is an idiot and decided Rondo should be winning the game, with that said I just can't begin to describe what Ray Allen has become after this game tonight. I don't think I've ever witnessed a shooting clinic like he put on, in any game, ever. Most NBA 51-point games happen mixed in with numerous trips to the foul line, but he only took 7 foul shots ("only" when you consider the game was 63 minutes long). And he played all but 5 minutes, and the guy is almost 34. We have Ben Gordon, but nothing he has done in this series compares to what I saw Ray Allen do tonight. I'm going to go ahead and say it, I don't think the Bulls won this game as much as the Celtics lost it because they stopped going to Ray, not only near the end of the game through halfway thru the first OT, but also in the final OT. It is dumbfounding, but hey, I'm not complaining. If you guys had won, all people would be talking about was Ray. It's funny, before the series I hated Pierce but I was a huge Rondo fan and have been a big Garnett fan since he came into the league, thought Ray had been good with Seattle but was just washed up here; but tonight (and since Game 2) I can't stop singing the praises of Ray, and I now will forever hate Rondo and Garnett more than I could have ever imagined, and I still hate Pierce though just a little less now.

Great effort to your team (minus Rondo), and I really do mean that. Had you guys won I would still be screaming about wanting Rondo tossed, but it would be just stupid to not congratulate Ray.

See you in game 7.

Ray Allen should have been allowed to score 63 points tonight.

Yeah we was going crazy today, as for best player in this series, he might not even be second, Rondo has been great for you guys, for us its been Ben Gordon who prior to this game I know was beating Ray in all the major stats, don't know now, and you guys also have Big Baby stepping up huge for you guys, but thats just an honorable mention.

He has been huge for you, especially down the stretch aside from that one game, but Gordon has done the same for us and has outplayed him in the series till tonight, and without Rondo, I don't know if you guys are in good position to have Ray Allen threes for the win because he has usually carried most of the team for the first three quarters.

Yep! He's been, by far, the best and most consistent member of the Big 3 ALL F-UCKING SEASON but people like Pogue Mahone and spud "Mrs. Paula Pierce" are *still* gonna post long-winded empty-headed "Trade Ray/Ray Sucks" threads...just you watch...

That's what I was most pissed at. Why did Ray hardly see the ball in the OT periods?!?!? He was playing like a god last night but we kept running pick and rolls with rondo & baby, gettin it to scal, and doing everything wrong. KEEP FEEDING THE HOT HAND!!!!

Then at the end when Rondo shot a fadeaway jumper, I broke my cell phone b/c I threw it in disgust and outrage. What a horrible way to end a great game. Why not give it to Ray?!? Why did Rondo even THINK about taking that shot, especially considering he was shooting horribly all night.

Ugh. I'm still sick over this game.

^Ray wasn't seeing the ball in OT because Doc Rivers had a Terry Francona moment. Francona is a great manager but is known for being faithful to his vets, even those not producing, to a fault. Last night the vet Doc was too faithful to was Pierce.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
