If it were unproductive salary, sure. But did Dallas get picks for Kidd? No, they gave picks. Did Phoenix get picks for taking Shaq? I think a pick is probably asking for too much considering the level of these players, last season not withstanding.

Shaq and Kidd are both first ballot hall of famers. Redd and Jefferson are fringe all-stars.

On the flip side, there's a huge difference between 35 and 29.

Some are considering bringing in Redd and Jefferson. What would we do with all of our picks though? We can't use the Phi, Mia, Mia, Bos, Min, and Mil picks together. If we made a trade like this, we would need another team involved so we could bring in more with what we have (or give Milwaukee a few garbage picks for Luc Mbah a Moute)

I think he's a combo forward. I should note though I'm in anyway endorsing this type of blockbuster trade, I just don't want to be stuck with a lot of 2009 draft picks.
