Von Wafer

Post#1 » by lurkingobeiscity » Sat May 2, 2009 6:42 pm

If a VC trade does end up happening (one that opens up some finances) I think this is a guy that may actually be worth the MLE. He's 23 and is starting to show some big-time ability. He is an unrestricted FA this year and Houston has to decide what to do with Tmac, Artest, and Wafer.

Thoughts?

I don't know. The guys a competitor and he has a mean. but streaky jumper that he relies on a lot. He's pretty athletic and a solid defender with a solid handle. On the other hand, he's a chucker who even goes into blackhole mode and forgets the definition of the word pass. He's not much of a playmaker and he could surely be a one hit wonder. Maybe a half MLE deal, but I still think there are better options.

Possibly. But who would you start, CDR or him? I like him and he's quicker too.

well if that was the case you might as well insert CDR into the starting lineup and start to get him more comfortable in that role, i think CDR is just too shy right now as a rookie, coming off the bench he doesn't want to make mistakes cuz then he doesn't get play time, if he was a consistent starter i think you could see his full ability.

Wafer isn't a starter. Dude takes the word tunnel vision to a whole new degree... He's a decent role player though.

i agree that VC should get traded to clear up some salary space, but not for wafer. CDR definitly shud get starter like minutes because he is capable of it. All he needs is NBA experience by actually playing crucial minutes instead of garbage minutes.
