What's up with the mock drafts?

Post#1 » by OGSactownballer » Sun May 3, 2009 12:27 am

Here's the thing. I fully understand that whoever has the #1 takes Griffin at that spot (whether I agree or not). But in every mock, despite the ABUNDANCE of point guards in this draft, they have us taking small forwards and shooting guards at the #23 and #31 spots? Why is this? The obvious draft strategy is to take BPA at the top pick, of course. But by the time you get to the latter first round and the second you look for the positional needs of the team - which in our case is obviously PG and b/u Center.

Any thoughts?

Because they're idiots and they don't know anything about the Kings?

Because most mocks have every relevant PG gone at the 23rd and 31st spot

Not true... just depends on what mock you're looking at.

Most don't bother to sort team needs at this time. It's basically a 'BIG BOARD' of ranked prospects. As the draft nears, team needs will be taken into account then, as it's LESS of a crap shoot the closer we get.

Yeah, none of them take team needs rinto consideration right now.

Take a breathe, relax. The Kings will draft a Point Guard at some point in this draft.
Interesting, you have some ideas you would like to bounce off Brian Sabean? That's strange, I have some objects I would like to bounce off Brian Sabean.
