The Nets 6th Man Next Year is....

Post#1 » by S.I.C. GM » Fri May 1, 2009 3:47 pm

I know a lot of people here are down on Yi, but this is what I think.

I think Yi would be a perfect 6th man. Comes in for Lopez or whoever is our starting PF next year.

He has the potential to have 12 pt and 5 rb coming off the bench.

Yi would be first F off the bench. Hayes or Dooling, only if we get another SG or SF to start, would be first G off the bench.

If Yi ever got confidence, I totally agree he'd be an awesome big man to spread the floor on the 2nd unit. This guy (and his management) have to grow up a lot for this to happen, but I do agree.

keep hearing about potential with Yi, but he hasnt shown anything yet....But I agree that he could be useful as the first big off th ebench...a bigger question is...who is our starting PF next year?

I honestly think he isn't on our roster right now, however, if I had to pick someone on the roster, it'd be Yi. With that said, I'm still pretty high on the kid, but honestly, we have to stop babying him. If he doesn't earn minutes, don't play him. Whatever.

The truth of the matter is that if Yi would've stayed healthy. We would of made the eight spot for the playoffs.

The problem that I have is that we have two identical players with anderson and yi. Someway or another we need to determine which one makes more sense for us in the long run.
