Make your draft board

Post#1 » by Durantist » Fri May 1, 2009 6:38 am

Like any other draft, GMs got a draft board prepared. So make your 1st round draft board for OKC.
With the 1st pick OKC could be choosing from 1-7 depending on the lottery outcome. They also have the 25th pick. Prioritize 5 selections for the 1st pick and 5 selections for the 25th pick.

Pick 1-7
1.Blake Griffin
2.Ricky Rubio
3.James Harden
4.Hasheem Thabeet
5.Jordan Hill

Pick 25
1.Jrue Holiday
2.Terrence Williams
3.Jarvis Varnado
4.Tyler Hansbrough
5.Sam Young

#1 Griffin
#2 Rubio
#3 Thabeet
#4 Hill
#5 DeRozan
#6 Evans
#7 Harden

#25
Patty Mills
Terrence Williams
DeJuan Blair
Jrue Holiday
Sam Young

I'd be happy with anyone of the top 7 on my list and anyone of those guys sitting around #25

Looking forward to the lotto so we can get a clearer picture.

i'd put hill lower on the board than the SG's. hill's position is already filled on the team, he can't play center, and a team this bad can't afford to draft a backup with a high pick.

griffin
rubio
harden
thabeet
derozan
evans

harden had a couple rough games but this team doesn't need another project like derozan or evans at SG. they need someone steady and ready to contribute asap if they draft a SG, and that's harden.

it'd be interesting to see what happens if okc got #2 pick. would a rubio/westbrook backcourt work? that pick would probably be worth a ton to a team like the knicks. i'd probably look to trade it.

Agreed, with everyone so high on Rubio, I would try and trade down just one spot and take my man Thabeet :) Same as if we're sitting in a position where Hill is the obvious pick. Trade out of that spot for some more value. I haven't really looked a bunch at the late first round part of the draft because the top is just too much fun :)

Assuming we can't trade the pick, here's my order:

Griffin
Thabeet
Rubio
Harden
DeRozan
Jennings
Hill

This pick really needs to fall in the top 4 (60% chance). To me, those top 4 guys are the ones that can come in and fill a starting position for us this season and continue to do a good job filling it for years down the road.
