Battier. He's proven himself capable of locking Kome down, but more importantly, the chances of him really pissing the Mamba off are much lower than if Artest guards him and starts talking ****.

Battier. Artest defence is slightly overated and he seems a step slower than Battier.

if, Artest can stop talking trash and start playing games, I take Artest
Otherwise, put Battier on Kobe.

This is a toss up

Artest is too damn emotional and feels he has something to prove against Kobe and Kobe feeds on that emotion.

Battier has a great history when it comes to guarding Kobe.. i don't think Kobe payed attention until that damn article in the New York Times highlighted that fact. Now Kobe's knows.. and thats going to feed him.. we all saw what happened in the regular season.. Kobe wants to destroy Batt AND Ron

Toss up

I'm going with Battier because he is emotionally stable..

I think Artest is a better match physically. Battier is a better match mentally.

Artest defends physical, Battier defends smart. I'd say start with Battier to restrict Kobe so Kobe would go physical, then switch to Battier cause he thrives on contacts

I think we've got to stick Battier on him. Shane's very smart on defense, and his face guarding has given Kobe problems before. Artest is best suited to guard Bron, but against Kobe we need to man him with Shane and have Artest play off help and over when necessary.

I'd have Battier on him most of the time.

On the other side - Hopefully Shane can keep shooting like he did in round one, because I don't remember the Lakers putting anyone on him in any of the games this season.

I think it's more important on who else is on the floor w/ Kobe. I'd rather have Artest on Ariza/Odom and then Battier on Kobe.

Battier easily, Artests ego gets in the way when defending Kobe, and besides Battier has had more proven success against him. I agree with roosk, when we reach the finals (!) Artest would be my choice to guard Bron.

I say mostly like 70% Battier and then Artest to close him down in last 5 min.

Heh this post doesn't make sense. If Artest can close him down (he can't), why not have him there for 70% of the time. Artest/The Team is Battier's backup.

Michael Jordan never showed up opponents the way Kobe did last night. Jordan let his actions do the talking for him. Kobe who is not even half the player Jordan was proved himself to be an immature primadonna. Even though as a Jazz fan I'm supposed to hate the Rockets, I really want Battier, Artest and the Rockets to not only beat the Lakers, but batter, bruise, and humiliate Kobe in the process. I only wish the players on the Jazz had the heart of Artest and Battier.
