Nice win, I guess my prediction that we'd blow them out in the 4th was right

Anyway, for whatever reason, I saw that "quit" look on Mavs faces and body language in the 4th... now Hornets were banged up and they all said we made them quit, but they were banged up.

If we could make a hot team like the Mavs quit, now we're special.

I don't think the Mavs "quit." If they did, it wasn't anything like the way the Hornets gave up and rolled over anytime we got up big on them. The Mavs faught back a few times when we got the lead to 10. Obviously down 20 with 3-4 minutes left, yeah they're going to take out their starters and concede....but it wasn't like they gave up.

This Mavs team has a lot more fight right now than the Hornets ever really showed.

I agree. This series is far from over and like you pointed out on the general board, which I almost did but decided against it. We can improve on our defensive effort. The Nuggets allowed the Mavs to shoot 48% for the game, which is a bit much for my liking. Kmart might not have shut Dirk down, but he only scored 28 points on 22 shots, so he worked for what he got. But overall we allowed them to take way to many open shots as a team.

After watching the first half of Game 1, it's clear this isn't going past 6. Rick Carlisle has done a helluva job with two guards under 6'2 and a power forward who stands at 6'6. That being said, Denver matches up so well with Dallas defensively that it won't matter how well Dallas adjusts. If Josh Howard isn't 100%, there's no way anyone on Dallas can contain Melo. Nene is a savage beast. I love watching him play. Danver in 5. Nice win.

Denver won because their bench dominated ours today. We cant cover Anthony, but Martin cant cover Dirk either, he just tries to beat him up. Anthony and Dirk will average about the same amount of points, this series comes down to whichever bench is the most productive.

As much as I hate him.. AC needs dap and pounds. Seems like he is the unsung hero. Our bench is most effective when he's in too.

Jason Kidd = 8 turnovers

Nuggets have succeeded in tripling his playoff turnover total in one night. Imagine what is possible after two games? Kidd will probably set out to have something like 2 turnovers or less in game 2.

Huge lift from the bench today, in what was supposed to be a matchup of two of the best benches, the Nuggets bench clearly won this one.
