I want that old thing back trade

Post#1 » by SteveNets15 » Mon May 4, 2009 6:15 pm

The NETS should trade any combination of 3 or 4 of these players: Simmons,Yi,Hassel,Sean,Anderson and Boone for Kenyon Martin.I think we can get him for Simmons,Anderson and Boone or Yi.

Next we sign Jason Kidd to a fat 1 year deal that he just can't turn down. He's gonna play until he's 40 anyway so in 2010 he can sign with a contender for dirt cheap. But with this lineup he'll get a ring here first.

Nets starting lineup:

KIDD
HARRIS
VC
KMART
BROOK

Bench:

Dooling
Hayes
CDR
Draft pick
Yi
Sean
somebody

Let's bring back the old school NETS mixed with the new school NETS and get the RINGS we deserve.RJ can sit on his couch drinking Milwaukee's Best crying as we play in the NBA finals.

I thought about this when i was watching Denver vs Dallas yesterday.lol Bring back the good times RT.

Kenyon Martin is, and possibly will always be, my favorite Net even if he was only here a few years. Ratner has stated he's totally willing to open his check book, however you need to ask yourself some questions:

1) Ratner will open his wallet, but does adding Kenyon for something like Simmons/Hassel/young front court player make us a title contender?

I think it always comes down to something like that. A lot of owners would open their wallets if they would become a title contender, but to me, I think Thorn would pass every time if it added salary, yet still made us a 2nd round out. Maybe in Brooklyn that may change since we'd own the stadium, opening up more revenue streams so our team wouldn't lose so much money, but as of right now, I can't see it happening, even if I love K-Mart. I actually think he'd be great playing next to Brook too which is a shame.

It's not a bad thought.

Also if we had that deal, J-Kidd could only sign for the MLE probably. I don't know if he'd be willing to come off the bench of Devin either. I think this part of your idea is the more unrealistic part lol.

no thanks to K-Mart.

Never was a big fan. Liked the heart, but Kidd made him. He didnt deserve that huge contract and I wouldnt touch it. He is an awkward landing away from retirement.

But K-Mart only has one more year left on that huge contract.Kidd did get him paid,I thought he was gonna get offered maybe 60 mill.lol and the man who paid him is now our GM.

I still want him back because of the veteran leadership, heart, toughness and defense he would bring to our power forward position.Even if he's just a one year rental.

K-Mart has 2 years left on his contract. 2010-2011 is a player option worth $16.5 million. You don't walk away from that.

I do love K-Mart and think he'd be great next to Brook. I think his knees can definitely hold up for 2 more seasons, however, Denver is gonna ask too much for him. I wouldn't offer any more than Simmons/Najera/SWAT for him. Also, I don't think the Nets will trade or sign a starting caliber PF until we are convinced none of the front court players on our roster can become that kind of caliber player in my opinion. I just don't think this is a totally realistic option as of today. Thinks can change down the road, but as of right now, even though K-Mart is great, I can't sign off on this.

IMO, it's not as much that Kidd made Kmart as the fact he just had 2 or 3 devastating injuries. I like to day dream of something like Kmart for Yi and Simmons and signing Artest to the MLE, but it's not very realistic. I wish we could get Nene, him and Brook together would be serious.

Veal is a free agent in 2010. I was reading an article about him a few months back. He was like "Yeah when that summer hits, I'm going to walk into Danny's office and say 'Danny, I like it here. Please resign me.' and if he says no that's when I'll start begging." I hate the Celtics with a passion but how can you hate on Veal? His play in the Nets/Pistons series is still a top 5 Nets highlight to me personally.

Wrong PG to take. Bring back Marbury instead. He'll make Yi a star.

Possibly... Though I hear the Knicks are planning on offering Marbury the full MLE to make up for the lack of scoring that Gallo's bad back will rob them from... Not to mention they want to make their backup point guard - Chris Dudhon - a backup again :D

Marbury is a loser just like Kidd  Ron Artest would pull a Latrell Sprewell on Lfrank by the middle of training camp. And Veal  will be out of the league when his contract expires.

Dam i didn't no K-mart had a 7th year 16.5 million dollar player option. When RT retires he better tell the RAT to hire a new GM.What was KiKi thinking.WoW

Ok maybe the length of the contract is a little wild, but honestly, if K-Mart didn't have knee problems (resulting in a microfracture surgery on both knees), I have no doubt in my mind he would have progressed to where he was worth every penny of that contract. I don't blame Kiki for anything regarding that signing except for the length. He couldn't predict what would happen in the future.

Come on prelude thats alot of money right there.I was hoping they would match it but Dam! they could've got K-mart for cheaper than that.He had knee and leg problems when they signed him.If it wasn't for KiKi he might still be on the Nets.
