I tend to think Calathes is a cross between Portland's point guards Blake and Rodriguez.

Blake is a very good defender, something Calathes is not.

Go ask Portland posters if Blake is a good defender. He's not.

Blake has always been considered a good defender. Portland fans want a stud pg next to Roy. Blake is no hinrich, but he is a better defender than many of the pgs

Whinny portland fans hardly validate. If we offered that as proof then Foye would be Jesus and Ebi, Al would be dream and Gary Trent. etc, etc, etc

How does that compare? This is anti-homerism. They are complaining he sucks. That is like Portland saying McCants must be a good team player since Minnesota posters always complain about him being selfish. That really makes no sense on your part.

The Portland fan base was also rejecting Hinrich trades left and right earlier in the year, because they thought that Hinrich's defense was only a marginal step up from Blake's.

Well then that's ignorance on their part over a player not on their team. When it's rather unanimous that fans think one of their players suck at defense, you can best agree that the player then probably sucks at defense
