OT: A-Rod juiced in high school, says book report

Post#1 » by LittleOzzy » Thu Apr 30, 2009 5:36 pm

Alex Rodriguez may have been using steroids when he was a highly touted high school player and was suspected of using performance-enhancers while playing for the New York Yankees, according to a soon-to-be-released book.

The Daily News reported in Thursday's edition that Sports Illustrated writer Selena Roberts' upcoming book A-Rod offers an unflattering portrait of the MVP slugger as a needy personality who wanted his ego stroked constantly.

The paper doesn't say how it obtained a copy of the Harper Collins book, scheduled to be released on May 12.

A high school teammate of A-Rod's told Roberts that the future No. 1 draft pick was on steroids as a prep player and his coach knew it – an allegation the coach, Rich Hoffman, denied.

They called him "bitch tits" in the clubhouse.

Anyone who needs to know how to heckle A-Rod at the next Yankees game, look no further.

Kickin em while their down, seriously.

DWade was bashed for two years from his injury - and now the press is all over his nuts.
Same thing with Bryant and the rape case.

Obviously, Wade was always a good guy but when you're down, I guess you're down.
Pretty neat and on the fridge for the real fans:

Selena Roberts was the journalist who first broke the A-Rod steroid story (and was kicked out of the Yankees training room after first trying to interview A-Rod about it), so obviously you have a pretty clear idea of the position she's coming from here.

Talk about kicking the guy while he's down.

In Robert's book btw, she not only talks about Arod's steroid use but digs deep into his personal life as well. For example, she talks about how Arod is a bad tipper at restaurants (I kid you not) and that there was a specific Hooters location that expressed their dislike about Arod being a bad tipper. I'm sorry but if she sticked to the issue at hand then perhaps I'd see her as a credible journalist.

I've never been a fan of Arod and he deserves the backlash created by his steroid use, but Roberts seems like she's trying to ruin his life as well.
