what`s Amare situation?

Post#1 » by brook_11 » Tue May 5, 2009 2:33 am

What´s the deal with Amare in your guys`point of view? are the suns trading him this off-season and going to rebuild? If so, do you guys see a possible trade with the Nets not involving Brook Lopez?

Amare is the face of the franchise, the only way they should trade him is if they can get another face of the franchise back...

I would trade Amare for Carter, Harris, and brother Brook. That is all I would do with the Nets.

I wouldn't do any trade with the Nets they always seem to screw the team trading the player they want.

How does Amare compare to Yao now? I thought most Suns fans ridiculed him for years.
What makes Rockets better this year than previous year? I believe it's because of lack of TMac mainly, who used to be the dominant ball handler and would win games with dominant scoring in regular seasons but couldn't really do the same in playoffs when defensive attention tightened everywhere.

Anybody remember their 21 game winning streak without Yao to close the season, just to exit in the first rounds the previous year? Many would have asked to trade away Yao who was in their dominant player TMac's way to glory, just like Amare in our dominant player Nash's way. Sign.

And you're completely delusional. Amare's value is not even close to that high. Not. Even. Close.

Amare will stay and then leave in free agency in 2010 without getting very little in return because Phoenix will wait this offseason when they could get close to full value for him.

I just don't get it. Amare has everything here for him. This team is arguably built around him. We put a center (Shaq) whose suppose to be grabbing rebounds and defending the opposing team's best big man to try and mask him defensive inability. We have a system that shoots a lot of three's which helps Amare in the paint because it spreads out the defense. Amare is the featured player on our team, except for the period when Porter made Shaq the main man.

There aren't many good team (teams he'll likely re-sign with) who not only have cap-space but also makes him the number one go-to guy. Maybe Portland, but they've got Roy. Once our big contracts comes off the books, we'll be able to build a team more suited with Amare being the man.

I don't see any reason why he should leave the Suns if we're willing to offer him a near-max extension. Nor do I see a reason why we shouldn't offer him a near-max extension. There's no one as young and has achieved as much as him who'll be available in 2010, not named Lebron, Wade, Bosh that we realistically have a shot at signing.

When Gentry took over, Amare went OFF...so I hope Nash spoon feeding him the ball is the #1 option and enough to make him want to stay...

I saw the interview where Amare said he thinks he might be traded this summer. I got not idea what the situation is in Phoenix, but I do know that the Cavs and Bulls were by far the most interested and closest to a deal this past deadline.

And I know Danny Ferry and Kerr are very close. The Cavs will be after a young starter in the frontcourt this summer whether they win the championship or not. So you can bet your ass, that if Amare is made available, the Cavs will be pushing for a deal more than anyone.

THe package the Cavs would offer would likely be something like Ben Wallace (huge expiring contract), JJ Hickson, Boobie Gibson, Sasha Pavlovic and a 1st round pick for Amare and a bad contract.

Seriously? That's just garbage. And the only questionable bad contract we have that extends past next season is J. Richardson, and even then it's not terrible.

Even if it were something like 3 1st round picks, which will all be in the late 20s because the Cavs have LBJ & play in the weak East, I'd still say no.

Paxson is closer to Kerr since they played both with Jordan.

Amare insinuates he wants Atlanta to make a deal with him in a radio interview. It's about 3/4 of the way through.

Use the FF function, the interview is garbage due to the DJs giving it.

I'd be pissed if my players were talking about going to other teams. Our Hawks board (not RealGM) is discussing a Josh Smith for Amare deal.
