Give us the Tmac of before 2008 and Mutombo and we are favorites to win it all this year. But we are not, Rockets without Tmac are the same than Lakers without Bryant.

Re: We would have won the championship with T-Mac
The depressing thing is that we don't even need "prime" T-Mac. If he could give us 18 4 and 4, we'd be in fantastic shape right now as far as looking at a legit shot at a championship.
Looks like we're going to give the Lakers a fight, but minus Mac we aren't winning anything. If he can come back and post similar numbers to the ones I gave, we're going to be scary.

Like i said before
Inserting numbers looks great but Playing with the team and developing team chemistry, is a whole new level.
How many of you remember when T-mac was not playing hurt this season or was giving us 15,5,5. How was our Chemistry than and how is it now. I tell you what, we were all wondering where is our Big 3.
A Healthy T-mac is great but a healthy T-mac who will play within the offense and defense team chemistry is even better. (How quickly we forget, T-mac does ZERO cutting, healthy or not)
As of right now, I think T-mac offensively is very in-efficient, he needs to touch the ball a lot to score 20ppg. You combine that with Artest and T-mac, those 2 will form a Mega-Black Hole. The sad thing is, if T-mac doesn't score and dishes assist, he is going to be a liability for the team because out of the starting 5, his defense is only better than AB. @ times AB at least puts in effort.
Not a knock on T-mac but I am not sold, you can take his numbers and insert them into the current roster and say Championship when we had Chemistry issues or folks complaining about T-mac not running the motion offense.
I would love playing T-mac 28-30 minutes, the majority of them in the 4th quarter. But I am not sold how he would fit in, with current Roster.
I guess we will see next year. I hope it turns out well.

I think even the Tmac this year would have been, nice to have off the bench, and in the 4th closing...
but then lets not forget who decided to get elective surgery

Putting in his 18, 4 and 4 would subtract from wafers, brooks and scola's numbers. Other than wafer, brooks (layups/set 3s) and Scola's layups/18 footers are higher percentage than tmac's pull up jumpers. Hence, I'd take brooks/scola taking the number of shots Mcgrady would take any day of the week.
Oh BTW, without Tmac, we won a series....hahahahah

Yeah, how about Tracy McGrady being our 6th man for next year? he can have the same role Ginobili has for the Spurs. Chemistry would not get hurt because he would play with the second unit and in some games the final minutes. Imo he is MUCH better player than Manu Ginobili, but after this serious injury he will be at the same level or worse than guys like Manu or Jason Terry.
Brooks - Artest - Battier - Scola - Ming
Lowry - Tmac - Von - Landry - rookie or Dorsey
Barry (one more year) - Hayes
No FA, just sign Ron.., cause it's important to not break our chemistry right now.

Yep, with a healthy TMac Houston would have won it all this year no question at all. However that was the big question before the year started. Many people including myself thought Houston would win it all if they could stay healthy. It was just a big 'IF'.
They still have a chance, but if they get past LAL Denver is a horrible matchup for them in my opinion. Couple that with Denver having home court and we could see the Nuggs in the finals.

much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

Actually, the Rockets matchup well with the Nuggets.. Its just Billups we are REALLY worried about. And playing Kobe and Roy, we will be more prepared for JR and Melo. Yao will abuse Nene and Birdman will be in foul trouble.

I must disagree, Tmac is not known for his cutting but lets be honest, he has never had a legitimate point guard starting that can break down the defence and create good looks for him. Yao also is not exactly the greatest post passer hes no brad miller or divac.
When Yao gets fronted in the post tmac would take over in the fourth which is huge when the pace of the game slows down. You say he needs to touch the ball alot to score, which is correct because he never played with a lot of playmakers. Also your forgetting a healthy tmac gets to the line whether hes cutting or not, which a) gets players on opposing teams inf oul trouble and b) tmac has drastically improved his free throw shooting.
Not jumping all over tmac, im just saying to say a healthy tmac is inefficient offensively is just wacko. Now does a healthy tmac even exist who knows, im just saying if he was healthy hes a great pick and roll player and is definately willing to pass the ball and take over in the fourth quarter. The chemistry problem was not having guys like brooks and lowry who can break down the d and move the ball around, instead of tmac having to do it all.
Mcgrady always used to fake a shot and hit Yao reposting a very unselfish smart play that your beggining to see artest do as well (he did it a few times in game 1 and has been more patient to let Yao repost deeper)

a vote of confidence please. this hypothetical discussion dont impress me really. the rockets are giving all they have and are taking us for a fantastic ride, and you guys are talking about how it could be with Tmac, assuming we are not going anywhere. Cant we all have some faith? And now you are questioning a BEAT LA sign. com'on man, we can do better than that.

Weren't you trolling the boards about how McGrady was holding the Rockets back?

True. Denver would be a good match-up for us in the WCF if we get past the Lakers. Just gotta focus on the task at hand with the Lakers right now, it's going to be tough.
