Randy Pfund is interested in Wolves GM job

Post#1 » by Mayoistooslow » Tue May 5, 2009 5:26 pm

"With Dennis Lindsay out of the running, former Miami general manager Randy Pfund has expressed interest in becoming Minnesota's new head of basketball operations.

"I am looking to get back to work," Pfund said. "I would say there are several opportunities out there, the Wolves' position being one, that intrigue me."

Pfund worked with the Lakers before spending 13 years with the Heat.

"There are some very good things about Minnesota," Pfund said. "I'm flattered that they're interested. With all these situations, you try to look down the road a little bit. That's what you try to figure out.""

My worry is how much exposure he has to this years draft class.

Reading these articles basically screams that the Wolves offered the job to Lindsey and he turned it down, now they're left thinking, "Oh crud, now what?"

That's what I thought too. Lindsey turned it down because Taylor wants management by committee, and Lindsey wants a hands-off owner. It will be very interesting to see how Taylor handles the next round of negotiations. If we end up with Stack as GM, it means no one else was willing to work for a hands-on owner (think Jerry Jones).

I like Pfund though. And I have seen him out on the road a few times this season.

Taylor wouldn't give Lindsey full control? Why in the world not? He's the GM, he should have control over all roster moves and coaching moves. Isn't that how it usually works?

I don't want any part of a guy who has such disregard for consonants.

As his first move, he's going to trade for Krstic.

If he gets the job, I plan on treating him to PF Changs.
