Barry took a lot of flack for annointing him his successor before he was even named athletic director. I can't see him getting fired. Barry is 62, he'll probably hang it up in the next 2-3 years and let the new AD pick the next coach.

Why would he hang it up in the next 2-3 years? 65 isn't too old to be AD. Who is his boss, is it the chancellor?

Unless we win 6 or less or don't get a bowl game, I don't think so. Barry loves the guy.

I think he'll get at least one more year regardless of how the team does this season. Alvarez i don't see having a quick trigger with his hand selected guy, plus even if the team struggles this year, Alvarez will use the excuse of the team being young.
