i know that most ATL fans suck, and are not giving the Hawks any chance of winning against the Cavs, but i think they can win.
just like what Pietrus did to Lebron in their last meeting, Hawks have to play off of Lebron and make him into a shooter and not a dunker or passer. play Lebron off and deep, when he makes his move, take a step back, rather then to the side, and make him shoot over you, rather then around or through you.
i really have no problem if Lebron averages 60ppg in this series, because their is no way the Hawks can win if Mo and Z get 20ppg each.
Joe is going to get alot of quick double teams from the Cavs, i would like to see Joe beat this by working off the ball on a few plays against West with some screens (a la Reggie Miller).

Re: Lebron James rules
The Hawks switching defense should actually be decently effective against Lebron, I just don't see what the Hawks can to do counter Ilgauskaus. (And to a lesser degree MIf Marvin Williams were healthy I would right now be advocating going small with the lineup and mostly rolling with Marvin at PF and trying to run Z off of the court. But with Marvin gimpy I don't see that as much of an option. I just think the Cavs are a very tough matchup for the Hawks.

SEE I TOLD YALL MIA COULDN"T F*** WIT YALL.
Anyway that seems like a great strategy, just hope that he dosent get hot which is a lesser chance than him getting all of his points in the paint. I felt that the refs played fair last series considering Wade was on the floor but it wont be as easy this series due to Bron being out there and CLE having a overall better team than MIA.
ATL has the parts to make this interesting, but you need to be more consistant and play out of your minds on the road. CLeveland will not fold in your building like Miami did. The thing that plays in your favor is that they are coming off a long break and I feel last years celtics were better that this years Cavs and you played them well with NO playoff experience. GOOD LUCK and HEALTH. CONTINUE TO REP YO CITY.

Just go hard at 'Bron, you've got to funnel him into another defender and exploit his penchant for developing tunnel vision against good defenses.

We actually might match up better with LBJ than any team in the league. If Marvin is healthy, we have three guys in the starting lineup that can cover him. Obviously that's not going to stop the guy, hopefully we can get him to play below his lofty standards.
Our biggest problems with Cleveland are their size, shooting, ability, and dominance on their home floor.

that is a horrible idea, funneling him will just make him into a passer.

Re: Lebron James rules
Lebron is probably the best player ever on the fastbreak, that's why we have to do these two things.
1, Take care of the ball.
2. Run our half-court offense really well.
This would allow us to get back on defense and be in "good" position.
The 2nd one is hard to do for two reasons.
1. Our team struggles to really run plays. We rely on JJ's isolation way too much.
2. The Cavs are a very good defensive team if you don't push the ball.
Now, Lebron shoots about 48%, That's very good for a SF. That's why you keep him away from the paint, but I'd rather let him 1-1 with Smith/Marvin, not Evans, and see what he can do, than let him get Mo Williams and Ilgauskas involved. If I were M. Woodson, I'd have the following line-up.
PG. Biiby
SG. JJ
SF. Smith - (To guard King James)
PF. Horford
C. Zaza (He's a better matchup for Ilgauskas than my man Horford)
Our second unit might struggle without Zaza, but with this line-up you have 3 big men to clog the paint and I think J. Smith can do a decent job on Lebron, way better than Mo Evans.

Re: Lebron James rules
I like that lineup, but you KNOW Josh would get in foul trouble which would then lead to us being destroyed by 30

...Did you see the Lakers make a fool of Lebron this season? What about the Spurs in the finals? Or Boston last year?
They funneled him into another man, and Lebron wanting to try so hard to be MJ or Kobe took bad shot after bad shot. On the big stage the dude's ego explodes.

i would rather have Evans and West use up their 12 fouls on LBJ

Re: Lebron James rules
Don't pay much attention to NetsForce. He uses examples that are 2 years apart because to be honest it's not really that easy to do. Sure LeBron can have poor shooting games (even series) but the main thing that'll make it tough on him is if your team has an athletic shot blocking big and the rest of the Cavs team isn't hitting their shots. if you don't have those 2 things going on, just backing off of LeBron is not going to get it done. There just aren't that many players that can defend LeBron if he decides that he wants to take the ball to the rack.
