Seemed like all the pushing and showing in the first two games was affecting us the lakers more because we are more a finesse team..
I think the Fish incident was planned .. A message needed to be sent that we cannot be pushed around.. Kobe's was incidental contact..
I have a feeling the next few games will be called more closely with touch fouls to prevent games going out of control... Both these incidents will be in our favor

Calling the game closely will only be beneficial to us. Let's face it, in the first two games, the refs were already calling a foul on us every time our players breath harder around Rockets players. If the refs tighten things up, then we can finally get some calls for ourselves.

im pretty sure they'll heighten calls as the series progress but i hope they don't turn into a whistle a second. That would totally take the game away from everyone. Just like watching the superbowl with all the penalties...
Some of the calls are such bonehead calls... some gets flagrants.. suspensions..fines while others don't.. They're not consistent, that's what irks me.

they probably will, but that might not be a good thing (unless we're getting ALL the calls)
because it slows down the game, gets everyone into foul trouble, and the rockets are money from the line, and we're not so much this series

It's funny how Rockets fans are crying and blaming Kobe and praising the most (Please Use More Appropriate Word) player I've ever seen - Ron Artest, Funny stuff !
Kobe's IQ is 100x higher than the (Please Use More Appropriate Word) one has got.
Oh, man, it would be lovely to see the Lakers just crush those pussy boys from Houston. Artest made me hate the entire Rockets team.

No, I don't agree. We do not know how to defend without committing stupid fouls, and with the ease at which their guards penetrate it has to be a concern. We can get physical with the best of them and THAT actually works to our advantage, but a closely called game does not benefit us whatsoever. Vujacic, Odom, Fisher, and Walton will ensure that the Rockets are always in the penalty, as these seem to be the main guys that tend to commit stupid fouls on a consistent basis. The Rockets play great team defense and that does not require them to be physical, although they are quite obviously as physical as anyone in the league. They are just a smart team when it comes to playing defense.
Also, as hermes pointed out, we suck at free throws.
The refs know that this is going to be a physical series, so they are not going to panzy it up. What we saw in Game 2 was just a matter of the refs getting the game under control as a result of a few boneheaded players trying to convince insecure fans/teammates that they aren't soft. If guys keep their composure the rest of the series then the refs will let both teams be physical. Being tough is not about going out there and leveling someone. It's about being mentally strong and not losing focus on what you're doing. This isn't the damn WWF, it's basketball and it requires smart play and intelligence. Above all, it requires guys to maintain their composure in pressure situations which neither team did last night. Pushing and shoving in the heat of the moment is to be expected, but some of the crap that went on in Game 2 was just flat out uncalled for and could be detrimental to the teams success. We can not afford to lose a guy that has the amount of playoff experience and veteran leadership that Fisher brings, and he should damn well know that being on a team full of insecure kids.
How everyone is so thrilled about the actions that took place is beyond me. I seem to be in the minority here.

I'm with you, I wasn't happy with what I saw yesterday. Fisher leveling Scola was just dirty and I'm seriously worried that Artest is going to murder Kobe Bryant during a game and not even know what happened. He is not right in the head.
If both teams keep their composure, we'll win the series. If we lose our composure and role players or god forbid Kobe get's suspended for any games, we could give our chances away.
