Re: Manny being Manny
I hate baseball and this whole steroid era is a joke. If you weren't using then you were getting beat out by everyone that was using. Forget all that asterisk talk and all that...they should put a big asterisk on baseball for the past 20 years.
Its crazy how deep it is in the baseball culture. When I think back to my highschool days it was all baseball kids and football kids that were taking roids. You never heard of any basketball players taking it. It just wasnt part of the culture.

It was ANABOLIC STEROIDS, most likely Winstro which promotes strenght and stanima. I'm sure his doctor hooked him up with a few 10ml vials and a copuple 23 guage syringes.

Is this a "first offense"? 50 games seems steep.
Don't get me wrong, I am all in favor of hefty punishments, and in favor of a second offense being worth more than 50 games. But the type of scenario Manny describes is actually plausible without any ill intent, which is why I do not favor stern punishment for first offenses.

Everyone knows Manny is so believable. He would never lie.

The dude is a complete jerk. The type that truly believes that the rules don't apply to him. It probably never seriously crossed his mind that he would get caught doing this. boston has sent L.A. a nice Trojan Horse here? Is this an omen of further bad things happening to L.A. by way of Boston?

OMG, a baseball thread on a basketball forum. Lock lock lock. We have a baseball forum for a reason. This clearly belongs over there.
Manny is (Please Use More Appropriate Word). In this day in age how do you let this happen. I actually feel sorry for Dodgers fans after that circus he put them through in the off season. I guess you sleep in the bed you make. Does this mean Papi was doing roids? It would certainly explain a lot about his hitting woes this year.

^I don't feel sorry for the Dodgers...they knew, given his history, what they were in for...if you deal with the devil, be prepared to dance with the devil...

Re: Manny being Manny
ESPN's T.J. Quinn and Mark Fainaru-Wada have reported that the drug used by L.A. Dodger Manny Ramirez is HCG -- human chorionic gonadotropin. HCG is a women's fertility drug typically used by steroid users to restart their body's natural testosterone production as they come off a steroid cycle. It is similar to Clomid, the drug Bonds, Giambi and others used as clients of BALCO.

Re: Manny being Manny
This does belong on the baseball forum. And in the General board of that forum. Player doesn't even play in Boston.
Next we'll have people posting threads "professional wrestler uses steroids"
... really?
