As I have said sure we need depth, but we don´t need depth at PF, we don´t need to pay such a big quantity for a jumpshooter PF, we need someone that can play inside, score in the post and defend. You can have better, cheaper and younger post players in Europe.

where is our depth at PF? zaza? solomon jones, or do we run marvin williams out there for a quick burn. we don't need a guy to play 35 mins a game, but at the same time we aren't going to get a guy that plays 15-20 min of good solid basketball for the cheap either. i understand that you don't wouldn't want to pay the man money, but i don't see these cheap effective bigs that want to play for the Atlanta Hawks. as soon as someone can come up with someone viable and cheap, I would be all for him, but if the best someone can come up with is

*burn a 1st rounder (sheldon williams)
*hope a second rounder pans out (solomon jones)
*sign a washed up vet and hope he has something left (lorenzen wright)

then we better get ready for more blowouts in the second and third rounds.

Andersen is only making ~$2.7M US. The "MLE" demands were nothing but rumor at this point.

Remember that Marc Gasol, a true center who is younger than Andersen, only got 3 yrs., $10M himself.

Andersen is making $2.7M (€2M), but it's NET number, like most of Euro contracts are called. Depending on the country, there taxes, but the contract number is what he really makes after all the taxes.
That's why he certainly hope for at least $4M.

Meanwhile, I am not sure he would be the best we can get for this team, but I'd prefer see him being S&Traded and get something in return than continue with this situation.

I would like to know what kind of contract they were talking about last year before BK resigned. They had a preliminary agreement.

You must be joking, we have a PF playing C, we don´t have any quality C on the team. We could use 5-6M$ on a true C that could play 20-25 mpg that are the minutes that Josh and Al leave on the frontcourt. I want a guy that can play defense, score in th post, add size and give something different to what we have and Andersen a 29 year old jumpshooter PF is not the answer. I want someone as Chris Andersen.

you can't be serious...

there is a reason why horford is playing C. there aren't any good centers out there to get. if there was, then he'd be out there trying to keep the cavs from embarrassing us. think about it, what was the last good cheap center to actually sign with a team...

i'm looking through the league and i don't see it. if you don't pick one up a legit one with a top 10 pick you aren't going to get him. and it costs a hell of a lot more than andersen to get him. even marcus camby makes close to 9 mil a year. and i hope you aren't looking for Chris Andersen to take us to the promise land. he's likely to stay in denver.

I would sign any of this: Mikki Moore, Varejao, Bradon Bass, Drew Gooden, C Andersen, Skinner, Chris Wilcox, Stromile Swift, Kwame Brown for the right price and even Steven Hunter, Nesterovic, Ike Diogu,Magloire, Melvin Ely, Robert Swift before David Anderson. You are going to obtain more from any of this players than from Anderson.
