Killroy, I just call it the way I see it.
If the refs called a foul on the original foul by Artest nothing would have gotten out of hand.
Is Artest dirty? No, Artest is playing within the confines of the rules. Not deliberately winding up or putting all his weight into his shoulder and following through with his elbow. I don't care if Scola sold it well, Fisher did all he could to put Scola down. Fisher's play was dirty.
Artest's was doing what I see happen in a lot of NBA games. Playing physical ball that should have been called a foul.
As for their history, beyond the brawl in Detroit, who has Artest elbowed the way Kobe elbowed Miller and Ginobili? When has Artest, in 10 years in the league, EVER received a flagrant 2 ejection or a league suspension the way Kobe has?

Dude could well be mentally unbalanced. But he's not dirty. Not yet, any way.

Re: Kobe Artest tussle , Will kobe be suspended?
It's kind of Artest's own fault he was ejected. If he just would've reacted like a normal person and got in Kobe's face after the play he would've been fine. If you run across the floor from person to person, you just look crazy man. Artest kind of acted like a child instead of a man by running around, then he kind of emphasized that by trying to pull the victim card claiming he took an elbow to the neck when it wasn't even near his head or neck. Just man up next time and get in his face, none of that dramatic ish man.
But yeah the correct call on that play should've been a Artest foul that happened first, then a Kobe flagrant 1. Kobe responded when Artest started pushing him under the basket from behind, nothing dirty just the game being played. Kobe said don't push me and artest said don't elbow me.

it was a physical game and both played dirty because the other did the same. Both are at fault. Just that, the officials didn't see it. I would say it was a double flagrant on both sides. Ron had his whole body on kobes back.. kobe just want his arse out of the way... wat do you expect kobe to do? tickle him off his back? hehe

I hear you...
But Kobe is always in the running for DPOY... And is one of the elite peremeter players in the league and can defend just about every position on the court... And he does it by being smart, agressive and quick.... Not by being dirty.
Artest's rep isn't all about Detroit... He's thrown monitors, threatened people, and just been wierd in a scary way...
But let's not minimize The Basketbrawl... That might be the single most embarassing moment in NBA history... And it was damn-near all Ronnys fault...
It's just as relevent as any past 'elbows' Kobe has been charged with... And some of them were a little ticky-tac...
If you've watched the Lakers at all you know Kobe takes WAY more than he dishes out...
There's simply no argument for Kobe being a 'Dirty' player... It's foolish...
And even if this was a reaction to giving Artest a piggy-back ride while he jams his elbow in your neck (and I don't think it was), it's not a dirty play... If the refs aren't going to blow the whistle, you can take that to mean it's ok to agressively get yourself a little space...

Re: Kobe Artest tussle , Will kobe be suspended?
Artest was ejected because he was ignoring the refs and doing the 'Throat-Slasher' Jesture to Kobe... It had nothing to do with the foul called...
So yeah... It was Artest's fault...
He could have give kobe a piece of his mind, got the T, and walked away... But that's just not how Ron-Ron rolls...

I have to completely disagree with you man, Artest is one crazy mofo. How long have you been following him? He's always pushed beyond how physical the game is played and he's always thrown his body around out of control.
To say he's never done anything outside of the detroit incident is ridiculous man.

Dude literally throws 3 elbows in one second in that video (1:45). He always plays out of control. Not saying it's a bad thing, it's actually exactly what the Lakers need. But to say Artest isn't dirty is ridiculous, he's made a career of getting too physical and costing his team games. I guess if that's not considered dirty, he's just a low IQ large mass of muscle that gets too crazy to even stay on the floor.
I hate to burst your bubble but Artest hasn't been anywhere near the best defender in the league for well over 4 years, he's lost a lot of legit defensive ability and speed. He's not even the best defender on his team. Battier is way ahead of Artest right now and has been for a long time even after ankle surgery.

Fisher has been suspended for striking Houston’s Luis Scola with his shoulder and head with 13.2 seconds remaining in the third period of the Lakers’ 111-98 win last night over the visiting Houston Rockets in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals at STAPLES Center. Fisher received a Flagrant Foul Penalty Two and was ejected from the game at the time of the play.
Jackson also announced that the Lakers’ Kobe Bryant has been assessed a Flagrant Foul Penalty One for elbowing Houston’s Ron Artest in the chest area with 6:57 remaining in the fourth period of last night’s game.
