Not sure how he's a douche. Like I said he's not the one who writes the articles that seem to piss you off. Think you need to take a hit of what Phelps is hitting.

Old Nedly must have been asleep all last season...when Brett cried, retired, said at the end of March he wanted to come back.....then changed his mind the next day, acted like a spoiled brat, threw my favorite team under the bus time and again....i am not going over all last season but Nedly obviously has some major short term memory loss on the d-bag factor.

BURN!

To Favre's credit, it wasn't all his fault. I think TT handled the situation poorly. I do really think TT is a good GM though and the people that infuriate me are:

1. The ones who refuse to acknowledge TT has ever done anything good because of their blind hatred towards him.
2. Try to say that Favre had nothing to do with why he was traded. It was an error and handled poorly by both parties, don't try to just throw it all on TT and the organization... If anything Favre should take far more of the blame for his retirement speeches for the past seven years.

It's over guys. You both need to get over it. I don't want to see this thread on top of the Packer board anymore. Let's talk about the team we've got now.

Yeah, they've been quite the powerhouse.

Keep that cardboard sign ready to protest TT though.

Local sports radio talk show hosts have to be bummed if Brett stays retired, especially Homer on 540. I generally like his show, but his addiction to the Favre topic made me stop listening. I swear, when it first came out that Favre was released by the Jets and the Queens might be interested, Homer sounded like it was the happiest news of his life time. Listening to him try and go through each and every possible scenario sounded like to me how housewives would sound talking about a soap opera. He sounded absolutely giddy and i just wanted to yawn, so instead i changed the channel.

I obviously understand why it was a big story here given the Vikings aspect of it, but man, i'm just so way beyond tired of hearing about Favre. I could even stomach more seeing Brett play for the Queens than i could stomach the thought of month after month of Favre being a Viking talk.

Homer was better than the guys on Madison's the Big 1070. Those guys would talk about Brett just as much, but they'd be discussing if you could follow Brett to Minnesota and cheer for the Vikings. At least one of the guys on the show was saying he would cheer for the Vikes and between him and the Favre-aholics calling in and agreeing with him, it made me sick.

Mike Heller is the biggest Favre apologist I've ever seen. I agree with him on most things, but he has his head up his ass on Favre.

xTitan wrote:Ted had to clean out a lot of garbage and dispose of an aging drama queen...and though some of the Favre zealots can't admit it, he absolutely made the correct decision last year. I don't know how great this team will end up being but I love the direction they are headed in, they appear to be modeling themselves after the Pittsburgh Steelers, have a very good young QB at the foundation and now it appears the Packers are FINALLY looking to build a big, physical, athletic team that is made to not only be successful but also excel in there home element. I am not a big fan of free agency, I personally would like to invest my cap space in the likes of Jennings, Collins, College...possibly Spitz and Kampman, based upon how he plays in the 3-4. I am very optimistic about the season and the talent on this team......with 2 big reservations and that is right tackle and kicker.

I also think Ted did a good job. But being devil's advocate.....
But looking back, you wonder what it would've been like if Ted let Favre do what he wanted. More free agents on the team. Favre would be throwing crazy, stupid passes....but then Moss would be there to jump over guys. There wouldn't have been as much drama in the lockerroom and favre's legend would have stayed in tack. The Pack was only 1 or 2 players away for some of those years, a few different moves and we could be looking at another ring for Favre.

So that I don't have to start booting people for going personal, and because (at least for now) this story is over, we'll end discussion and bring it back should something NEW develop.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
