“I didn’t know where the puck went, I saw it on the replay after, it was definitely an early call. We were lucky there,” said Hiller

I mean....when the goalie is saying its a quick whistle

Thats my problem with the call. Too quick

No doubt it was an early whistle, but the ref lost sight of the puck...

I <3 Jussi Jokinen.

How did the Hurricanes do so poorly after they won the Cup? Cam Ward is such an underrated goalie, it's incredible.

I picked Carolina and Vancouver in the Stanley Cup Finals. I feel semi-smart right now. Don't let me down.

I'm feeling better about the first round series now tbh ;) lol Not to mention I can rag on my Dad now (He's a Bruins fan, because my grandfathers cousin is Milt Schmidt. They grew up watching him) after all of the ragging he did on me the first series :P

Sooo glad the Pens got that game. This needs to be a series, and it just got closer to being a long one. Good to see Malkin at least get the monkey off his back. . .I anticipate a better game 4 from him just because he can relax a bit.

Sad thing is, these are some of the best playoffs in awhile. . Great great series, great side stories, and GREAT games. . . yet media keeps talking about Jimmy Blackberry. Would be nice if we could focus on the product on the ice, instead of the technical bull behind the scenes between lawyers

I went to the game yesterday and the crowd was unbelievable. We were so loud. The best thing about the game was when Ovechkin went to nail Orpik and Orpik was ready to Ovechkin went flying. Crowd went nuts for that. The Pens have figured out Varlamov. Get in front of him when the shot is coming. His body language after Malkin scored when Guerin screened him said it all.

Malkin was a beast last night. His mom and dad rock as well.

But the Penguins need 42 shots and overtime to win last night. Keep in mind I didn't see the game, but that doesn't strike me as figuring out Varlamov.

Great game by Varlamov. Pretty impressive that we only lost by 1 after Pittsburgh probably played as hard as they could have. I expect the series to be 3-1 by the time it comes back to Washington on Saturday.

Vancouver has the fire power to rack up the goals, not sure why they felt like playing prevent defense all night. Thankfully they did and it cost them in the end.

That Chicago-Vancouver series is to tough to call, should be a great seven gamer.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

The Pennsylvania State Police's computer crime task force is investigating a death threat issued against Washington Capitals sniper Alexander Ovechkin.

Really? You're writing about a guy who recieved a death threat (on a message board mind you, remember that the next time you get angry) and the best name you can call him is a sniper?

Real dick move by some people on the Capitals forum to make a big deal about this thing. Impulsive things are always said on game day threads and to get a regular fan under all this scrutiny is ridiculous.

Detroit finally figures out Hiller

Way tougher series than i could have dreamed. We are a couple bounces from a sweep, but alas, Anaheim has played very well. Luckily home ice is in our favor now

Game 5 is very, very important

I think its Luongo. Everywhere he is, it has to be a defensive minded game. He just cant fathom the thought of not being the most important player on the team. . .thus the only team in the league to have thier goalie wear a C. His interviews are painful . . . .the guy thinks he's the pope. I know i would like to know i had the best goalie in the league behind me as a player. . but not too sure i would want him as a teammate

That team will be very different next year, they will be a lot tougher of a playoff team, because they will keep pumping the D, and focus thier forwards to defense to appease Luongo.
