This was a joke, right? How can you waste the 7th guy in the pen?

On the plus side, at least Downs/Carlson/Frasor/League got a rest this series.

True, even if he only allowed 2 runs, the offense didn't show up today.

Well another way to say it would be that Weaver was great and dominated us (which he kind of did...3 hits and no walks in 9 IP is pretty ridiculous).

Watched till the end of the 7th. In the first 3 innings, Weaver got out of a few 3-2 counts by having the Blue Jays time and again swing at balls in the dirt. I mean, after the second time, you'd think that they'd get a clue! No? I think Weaver reached 48 pitches in the first 3 innings. Then, they decided to swing at any first pitch, and the ball game was over.

Ray was not bad actually. Figgins basically got 2 runs off of bad defense. The first home run was a mistake pitch, but the second home run was actually a good pitch. The batter (forgot who it was) leaned down and smacked it. It didn't look like a natural swing to me.

How old is Ray? I think he has some promise...

Ray was the sacrificial lamb in this case. Cito knew the odds of winning were not great so he stretched Ray as much as he could and then let Murphy finish it. Between that and Halladay's 8 inning performance, the bullpen should be well rested heading into Oakland this weekend.
