Pierce as Mr. Glass. Apparently they don't watch a lot of basketball. That's like saying Dwight Howard doesn't jump high.

The Boston hate on that board is over the top. Makes me think we just swept them in 5 straight ECF...when we have barely played them...idk where all the hate comes from... :lol:

But really, threads like that remind me how we have the best, most consistent, and classiest game threads on the board, all thanks to wtb.

Well i know. But they really take it to another level. I never hate like that. I don't think Lakers fan do the kind of hating they do. 30% of the topics on their main page is bashing the Celtics in some way...

I really think it comes down to the mods. Our mods tend to be light hearted and level headed. Obviously , Not everyone is going to follow suit. But IMO, They do a pretty good job of keeping this board running smooth. I read some of the comments from their mods about us and I am not surprised with the content on their board.

But Its not like we don't have our share of douches and cry babies on this board.

Seriously, you'd think Orlando just got a team last year from the collective IQ of their fans, what a joke. There's a couple reasonable posters then the rest is just hate and whine fest. At least the players and teams have respect for each other.

I don't think Alston should have been suspended over the love tap either, but they way the Orlando fans act you'd think it's the Celtic's fault that the league followed it's own guidelines for suspending a player.

One posters game thread doesnt mark the entire board down as that type of poster. A few found it funny, doesnt mean they would do it themselves or think that way. Its a bit disappointing that still people view the acts of one or a few as enough to tarnish an entire collective. We see it in the general board which is why Orlando fans have a bad rap.

But as I can see people read our boards, and thankfully only a couple have commented, but treat 1 poster talking about wanting Rondo injured as if the 100's of posters we have share that view, despite the rest of the thread reprimanding him.

I make this post just purely because while some of my posters are wrong in what they say, I dont see how its much worse than their actions being put on the like of myself and my other good and strong posters.

Thanks for the time.

There isn't hate on you by Magic fans, it is just an immature response to NBA refs' inconsistency. The fact that Rondo got off of two arguable suspensions without getting a single one, and that the Magic's players have gotten two suspensions out of the same number of suspendable acts is bothering a lot of us. It's true that the Magic actions were off-basketball plays, which is why they were correctly suspended. But Rondo's hit to Miller's face was a flagrant foul, no doubt. Especially after hearing Rondo say that he was going for the foul. I don't know if it merited suspension, though, but Rondo's toss of Hinrich to the PA table was certainly due for a suspension. As someone in your board said, IF the NBA explained the rules more correctly, we would have no reactions like this. When they don't, and have a history of setting a double standard for big market teams/players, vs the rest of the teams/players, this happens.
There is not much to hate about you guys in this series:
- Rondo has played his game, and he is awesome at it. He has some sort of cockiness which, as a rival, makes me mad, but is part of the game. The only thing not excusable for Rondo is his attitude in trying to get into fights since he's been lucky he hasn't been suspended (i.e., when he tried to slap Dwight in the 1st game).
- I've never liked Pierce, but he is an awesome player, Kobe-esque at times.
- KG is an awesome player, but I always rendered him (incorrectly) as classy. His intensity takes the best part of him sometimes, and makes him do foolish things, which all players sometimes do. That doesn't take away the fact that he is a great player, and was one of my favorite players of all time.
- Ray Allen is awesome, and classy.
- Eddie House is just a cocky bench player, and has been since his Miami days, and will be that way until he retires.

Rondo could have been suspended, or not. It was borderline. The difference between this and the Rafer play was the Rondo/Miller play was a basketball play giving a foul to prevent a lay up. As the league stated there was no wind up or follow through or intent to injure- just lay up prevention. (Miller did not get hurt by Rondo's tap, but by hitting into another player afterwards.)

The Rondo/Hinrich play- Hinrich pushed Rondo a full fifteen feet by backing him up before Rondo responded.

The Rafer slap was AFTER the play. It had nothing to do with basketball. It did have a wind up. Did have a follow through. Did have an intent to harm. It was stupid. In fact Rafer should have been suspended for pure dumbness.

And give up this fiction about Boston being favored by the league. Paul Pierce had his freakin teeth knocked out with no flagrant called. Reggie Lewis DIED and cap relief was denied. The league doesn't favor the Celtics.

Big market bias? Boo hoo. This is just bogus whining. Stop whining. Quit whining. Don't whine. You bunch of whiners.

The Celtics didn't win when they didn't have talent. Now they have talent and are winning. There is not one iota of evidence in foul calls or tech calls that the league favors Boston. NOT ONE IOTA OF EVIDENCE.

You want to talk basketball than talk basketball. Just quit whining, you whiny whiners.
