I dunno, I still don't think that play belongs. We are the better team we shouldn't HAVE to make a statement. We were already making a statment but blowing the game out at that point and out rebounding them. There are better ways imo. I understand it, I just don't like it.

If the team needed that after what happened in Boston last year its a little sad to be honest.

i see EE's point but agree with your disappointment that this is what it takes (if it works) for the team to get their head into the playoffs........especially after last year. this team may be physically tougher than last year but i don't see a whole lot of growth in maturity or mental toughness. hopefully they haven't shown their best yet.

Not surprising that Lakers fans would support a blatantly dirty play. But I think you would have won that game regardless. The play was unnecessary, and I don't see how it will help you in Houston.

He can't be any worse than Blake was in that series. Besides Jordan won't play all the minutes unlike Blake who Nate had to lean on for big minutes.......it's a difference big time.

As far as the "dirty play" by Fish.........yeah it's not in the form of clean basketball but like Fish said their big's were taking liberty's on them when setting screens. Some times all you guys see is just the game itself but don't pay attention to what's happening inside the game. Real ball players who've played organized at some level understand this clearly.

It's only because we won that everyone likes the play. In a gm we had to win and considering we had a double digit lead, it was a dumb play that could have easily backfired. The momentum could have easily swung the other way and I think it was dumb risk at that time.

Why didn't Fish try that crap vs C's in gm 6 last year on Perk or KG when we were down 20? Don't pretend you are a tough guy when you aren't.

But at least I won't see fish bulldozing to the basket only to miss a layup or clanking for another 48 min.

And as mentioned, if we have to depend on a play like this to raise our intensity, ... Sad indeed. Might as well send in Mbenga and have him decapitate someone. We could very well reclaim homecourt.

i think the lakers have tried to play the game the right way,but the way dont pay(dogg pound dogg food reference)...seriously...if the refs arent going to call it the right way, then what woud you have a team do?

did you watch the game? or just the highlights(or lowlights as it were)? scola was in every single laker players face all throughout the game...he was getting cocky and arrogant on OUR floor...

what are we supposed to do?

and unlike others on this board, i knew from the second it happened, that it was the right thing to do, from a strictly lakers standpoint...it is hard playoff basketball...and veterans have been doing that for 40 years...

I wont be surprised if it was a part of a game plan.
All that was needed is one defying move, preferably by one of the veterans, and since Kobe, or Lamar are too valuable, and Luke is too fragile, Fish was the perfect candidate.

We have a young roster full of high maintenance pussycats, I guess. No rings this year either if they play like this. I'm disgusted. Lack of effort is never OK, not under any circumstances but especially not in the playoffs. Especially not when the opponent is down for the count with their biggest strength taken away.
