Are we witnessing the end of an era of Yankee dominance?

Are the Yankees an under .500 team?

As a Jays fan I think you guys picked up a great 1B in Mark Teixiera, he will eventually come out of his early season slump, like he always does. Remember his OBA is still over .350, which is pretty impressive for a guy batting under .200

The Blue Jays will miss having AJ Burnett, his last season he actually showed consistancy. But he can either dominate or blow up in a hurry (suseptible to huge innings), so he's really hit or miss, I hope he doesn't frustrate Yankee fans too much.

The C.C. aquisition I was a little skeptical about. Yah he had a great season last year, but hes overweight and may be past his prime years.

To Cashman's credit, there really was no dominant FA pitchers available in the offseason last year. Getting C.C. & Burnett was the best he could do. I see the Yankees doing better in 2010, with a better FA possibilities:

Pitchers:
Josh Beckett * BOS
Erik Bedard SEA
Kelvim Escobar LAA
Rich Harden CHC
Cliff Lee * CLE
Brandon Webb * ARZ

*option years/ can opt out

yes, the yanks are getting old and the infusion of young talent is not there

we have no ready C prospect
no ready IF prospect
one OF prospect who still needs more at bats

the yanks farm has talent in lower level, which doesnt help your mlb club for another 3-4 years unless those pieces are used in trades for immediate help

CC's one of the best pitchers in baseball. Getting him was and still remains a no-brainer. Last night's performance was only further confirmation of that.
