Re: Trade Thread
I don't know about the rest of the spurs fans on here but I am pretty put out with Splitter. I see all these websites and "experts" saying how he is the best center in Europe yet he is choosing money instead of coming to play with Tim Duncan on a Championship calibre team. Why not take a year of rookie pay scale? Lebron did it, Duncan did it, David Robinson was getting paid less as a rookie than probably the last pick of the first round this year. He needs to get over himself, man up, and see if he is good enough for the NBA.
We passed on Big Baby Davis and Marc Gasol in that draft, I think we passed on them both twice drafting Marcus Willaims ahead of them as well. So frustrating!!

Here is a trade I would love, but doubt would happen. We give up Kurt Thomas and George Hill to Golden State for Anthony Randolph and Ronny Turiaf. Anthony Randolph is on Nellie's bad side and they may be looking to unload him, and Ronny would be there for salary purposes, I think he could be a much needed back up in the Malik Rose mold.

The Warriors are super high on Randolph.
They believe he will be better than Beasley.

Another trade that would work is with Chicago. We give up Oberto, Thomas, Bowen, Hill and in return we get Hinrich and Noah. I know that team is set at guard, but they get Hill as talent and a bunch of expiring contracts and we get a very good complementary player in Noah and depth at guard back in Hinrich. The only problem is Hinrich's contract looks poopy.

Blame Rasho, I thought they almost got rid of him at the All Star break, and even benched him some games due to him butting heads with Nellie. If I was a Warriors GM I would be high on him too. I would actually rather fire Don Nelson than risk losing Randolph.

Who said he Outlaw would only be a one year rental. The Spurs could definitely resign him, and he is still very young and probably only going to get better.

Whats the reason for the Warriors to do this? They have no use for Hill or Thomas and Anothy Randolph is a very promising player and even if they are looking to get rid of him they could do much better.

I personally not a big Outlaw fan and lets be honest, if the Blazers are trading some of their assets it will be for a package better than what we have.. I can see them landing Hinrich during the summer with Outlaw and Rodriquez as the key pieces.

I would love to get both players but they wouldn't pick up the phone with that package. I love to have Noah next to TD. Hinrich contract isn't all that bad by the way. It actually goes down each and every year.

Re: Trade Thread
Going back to that three way Portland trade, I would do it if we could grab Rudy Fernandez instead of Outlaw.
As for the Chicago trade, I know Chicago wouldn't be down to give up Noah. I am just frustrated this year more than most, we have had off-season chances to draft and improve and we really haven't done much the past two seasons. No matter, some change is happening this off-season, it has to happen.

It needs to for the Spurs sake. They can't expect to win another championship keepin the same players on the roster. Make upgrades for God's sake.

Azubuike would nice if we don't already have a Roger Mason and Manu on this team. Buike is a SG and he's a guy that could command somewhere from 3-5 mil which will take most of our MLE. I sure think we have other positions to upgrade than another SG.

I was thinking Buike at a SF position despite his height and shooting ability.

We've been saying it for years: a rebounding/defending big to pair with TD is what we need the most.

Will Bynum and Amir Johnson for George Hill, Matt Bonner, and 09 1st? (not sure if you guys still have your 09 1st)

Re: Trade Thread
Id be hesitant to part with Hill since we've had a lot of trouble landing a decent backup PG. But Amir is an intriguing prospect.

Did you hear much about Will Bynum? He exploded at the end of the year for us, at times did a lot more for the team than Stuckey.
That said, he's a wildcard, he came over from Israel, and nobody had a scouting report on him. But he scored 26 points in the fourth quarter in a game for us. He was pretty awesome, just don't know if he can keep it up.
If Bynum plays like he at the end of the year for you guys, and Amir turns into something decent, that's a steal of a trade.
George Hill fits with the Pistons because Stuckey's a score first guy, and from what I know, Hill is more of a pure point. I've only seen Hill 5 or 6 times though.

Re: Trade Thread
I didn't catch many Piston games this year, I've read the hype on Bynum and you guys (Piston fans) seem pretty high on him, but no I haven't seen his game first hand. Anyone that can score 26 in a quarter is something to consider.
I like Stuckey's game a lot, but this was based on last year when he backed up Chauncey.
Hill's an exciting prospect, but I wonder what his future will be in SA. He's perfect as a backup to TP for now, but as he develops he'll likely want to go to a team that he can be a starter for. I forget that Parker is still just 26 and has 6+ productive years ahead of him.
