it's protected 1-15, and will get less and less each year.

As eathy said....the pick is very much protected(the Bobcats aren't THAT stupid). Lotto protected this year, 1-12 in 2010, 1-10 in 2011, 1-8 in 2012, 1-3 in 2013, and then unprotected in 2014.
It'll take a lot of luck and a lot of Charlotte sucking for us to get that pick when it's anywhere near the top 5(let alone #1). Most likely to happen is the Cats have a similar season next year to what they did this year, and we get a pick in the 13-17 range.
That wouldn't be bad at all though. If that's the case, maybe we'll be able to package it with our own pick, and then move up into the 5-8 range....and get a pretty good player. Next year's draft should be better than this year's too.
