Rondo sent a clear message to Hinrich, don't push us around b/c we could do the same.
sam dalembert provoked dwight. According to Rafer House provoked him. Hinrich provoked Rondo. Doesn't matter if the action was merited or not. The action remains the same. Rondo THREW Hinrich into the scorers table. That's a worse offense then a love tap by rafer alston. That's why Stan said that.
No, Stan said that because he's a douche bag. He's not dumb enough to actually equate the plays as similar, but being a whiny douche bag he just tried to make the stupid case the Cs were getting favorable rulings from the league office (which couldn't be further from the truth) while his poor team of soft, heartless athletes was getting the shaft from the big bad commissioner. Rondo and Hinrich got tangled up in some rebounding action: Rondo PULLED Hinrich (who had already begun to lose his balance because of his overly-physical boxing out) past him, and Hinrich's momentum carried him into the scorer's table. It was a physical, playoff level intensity situation where two guys just got a little carried away.
Alston's action was completely different; the game was out of hand, there actual play was over, House was running up the court, and Alston--unprovoked, at least if you go off the video evidence, which shows NO ELBOW being throw, only an elbow possibly being cocked for a second or two--came up FROM BEHIND and SLAPPED House. It was pre-meditated, malicious and clearly a non-basketball, potential fight-starting action and the league dealt with it correctly.
You can equate them in your head only if you're stupid or a douche bag. I don't think Van Gundy is stupid.
The leaks are real...the news is fake.
