Pau's lack of aggression

Post#1 » by dropbowsonem_25 » Sun May 10, 2009 11:14 pm

I dont know why some games he comes out aggresive ie spin moves, pull up jump shots. attacking the rim etc. Then some games he is just set on being a screen setter and nothing else. There is no reason why a player of his caliber can be taken out of his game like nothing. Pau may not be all too blame on this, Phil needs to run some plays for him as well. i know for a fact Hayes is not an all time defender in any way shape of form. He is about 6inches shorter, he should be easily shot over. This is a trend with Pau starting from around game 3 in Utah, He should in no way be content with just being on the floor, he needs to put his stamp on this series. He should damn well feel disrespected that they are even pondering putting Chuck Haye on him, it is a slap in the face.

I agree, Pau should've had a field day today along with Bynum. We're playing a Rockets team that lost both their centers, and started Chuck Hayes to guard Gasol? I don't care that he had 30 pts. as Van Gundy said, they were all fake garbage numbers.

on top of that, Fisher should NOT be starting. Phil is so stubborn about that, it was clear that Farmar was and is our best matchup for Brooks. Also, god knows why Luke got so many minutes (though he did have our highest +/- rating) I'm questioning how badly Gasol or anyone else wants a ring.

QFT. Pau had the most quiet 30 in the history of L.A, if not you telling me he had 30. i honestly wouldve guessed he scored 13. I would've him rather had 15 and some sort of impact thats not on the box score, such as some intimidation. we can beat these guys easily if we just show up and play basketball. we need to abuse them in the post. god knows why we dont post and repost pau or bynum. the game we need to play against these guys is inside out ball. fisher is becoming terrible on defense and offense. earlier in the year he was posting brooks( i remember this vaguely) GO BACK TO IT!!! we are bailing them out playing like this.

the guy guarding Pao today was 6'6, one-inch shorter than Kobe!!!. what a disgrace. and then the smallest guy on the court had a field day. Pao was still able to score 30 though. With this effort, i don't think the Lakers are 'ship-ready.

quite possibly the most quiet 30 ever.. i only take solace in the fact that when the lakers lose they usually come back with motivated play.

yeap mostly all in the 4th Q when the guy was already decided. like Van Gundy said during the game "those are fake points" referring to Pao.

well if you look at my 1st post ever it was a post stating i was a long time lurker and it was in support of the lakers. ive been lurking on this website 4 a very long time. there is no sort of trolling in my post. it was in support of the lakers. if i was to write pau is soft or lakers are mentally weak, then by all means label me a troll. you honestly have no right labeling trolls all bcuz of a post count. look at some of my post, very pro lakers. i challenge that im a bigger fan than you, check my myspace page if you want, i have people telling me lakers suck from as far as ive had one. im a HUGE l.a fan, cmon man im offering logical discussion. and if you wanna help me get the playoff sig then by all means let me know how, otherwise i think labeling me a troll is kinda childish.

he did have 30 and 9, that is a wonderful statistical game, but it didnt have any impact on the game. lets look at an earlier game he had in the series. spinning off yao dunking , and1 jumpshots, attacking the rim, that opens up the game for everyone. like i said earlier id rather have a attacking pau 20pts than a laid back 30. although 10pts is a big difference, it is the context in which those points were made. oh and bynum, dont get me started. im a big supporter of his but he' a complainer and pouter. i understand hes frustrated but you never complain about playing time, its all about the win. id rather everyone average 15pts if it means a guarenteed win.

Okay I just tried to download three different images from google for a signature and it wouldn't let me, "can't figure out dimension". So I stole one from the Laker media board. I do think it would be good for more Laker fans to add a signature, especially the newer ones. We need to show a little more pride in our team.

Pau is Pau... I think for him, he was aggressive...

The reason Pau looked so bad today though was Lamar Odom...

I don't think he got one defensive rotation right, leaving Pau to defend the paint himself... Which he doesn't do very well...

your right and i cant really blame deep for labeling me a troll, since i am newly registered n all, and my 1st topic could be considered critical of Pau. trust me ive ready as many troll post and seen as many troll poster as you guys, some are good for laughs others are downright laughable.

Well if you noticed dropbowsonem_25 I didn't really attack your post, it was actually a valid discussion to debate. My thing was this we get a lot of guys coming to this board, they'll post something either negative or baiting then they'll go run back to their original teams board or the GB and post away on how Laker fans are with any choice words you wanna insert.

It's not about post counts and all that, it's just that most fit the criteria for trolls because they only come out after losses like roaches do at night. It's all good looking forward to seeing you come discuss more on the board.

This post is totally unfair.
Pau was the only one trying to comeback and win, it doesn't matter if Lakers were losing by 1 or by 29. He made 30-9 on 11/17 shooting and played over 38 minutes, and those 30 points were legit, not fake. Maybe they should take those points from the final score? :-?
I wonder were was Fisher's defense today over brooks, Or Arizas or Kobes over Battier, or Bynums dominance in the paint or Kobes leadership and points...
...+/- stat: Odom -22, Ariza -22, Fisher -26, Kobe -12, Bynum -10....ouch! Pau was -6 playing most of the game.
jeez!, I hate when people complains about Pau. He looks soft because of long physique, but he plays as much desired as anyone on this team, including Kobe.
He makes 30 and he gets all the beating. No, great. Seriously.
It's about time to start loving Pau, because he's the one and only that made this team a title contender. You'll miss him when he leaves.

Now that you mention this, I would like for some help getting both. I have been a member for a few years but only access this site while passing time at work. I dont know if I have been going at it the wrong way, but cant seem to figure out how to put this sh** in. Didn't really want to ask but I do get quite annoyed not seeing them in my post. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Also I could have been doing it right but figured maybe it was due to me trying on my work cpu that the directions I have read about here wasn't working for me. Dont be too hard on me for this noobish request seeing as though " I'm a grown azz man dawg ".

Now as far as pau is concerned he was the only one that showed up. 30pt is 30pts on the board no matter how quiet the are. My blame for that loss fall on PHIL JACKSON. He is getting payed to coach that team and he is not doing sh** right now. He could have been back in LA and we would have had the same results that we had with his coaching last night. I understand the whole lesson teaching thing he does has worked his whole career but damn do we need to be embarrassed to get the point across again. Had we played through the post the entire game, we would have been able to slow houston down by controlling the pace of the game. There is not gaurantee that they still would not have been firing on all cylinders even then but hell if we ever decide to play defense then that may help too.

I think that fish should have showed in 4 games that he cannot play brooks and should be put in a reserve role, at least for this series or until he re-gains his shooting touch. From here on out he may match up better with billups strength and maybe quick enough to play mo williams ( I doubt it ). Right now farmar should get the bulk of minutes ( as hard as it is to say ) with fish then matching up with lowery until he shows he is struggling, which we would then move on to shannon brown.

I dont know about yall but I'm tired of defending these performances to people at work who want to harrass me about our shi**y play. One more motherf***** comes up to me bout this game and Im gonna bust dat azz.

Wow, Pau is the least of the Lakers' concerns right now. Hometown fans can sometimes be too close to the situation.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved
