Steven Hunter
what's the deal with this guy, he's only 27? is he's not good enough to play anymore? is he hurt or just not on the Denver playoffs roster? He was our young starting center in one of our most memorable seasons. Maybe he's a FA and we can sign him to a minimum or trade Bozo (lopez) straight up.

Re: Steven Hunter
I really liked Hunter when he was here...has size and knows how to use it defensively. He would be a steal on a min contract.
EDIT: I don't know what his current deal is either.

I would pass because side show bob can at least catch a ball. Hunter has been hurt and never was that good to begin with. The guys hands make Kwame browns hands look like good.

Hunter was a good shotblocker and very good post defender. I remember him making Pau his bitch when we swept the Grizzlies outta the playoffs. But he doesn't have good hands at all and isn't a great rebounder. He's been hurt ever since he left. I'd take him back if he were healthy, but it's not happening.

I liked the way he plays. Even when he was on the Sixers, he played pretty well in a two center lineup. I would take him back for sure if he's healthy.

Re: Steven Hunter
He's been out the entire season with injury. I think he was cleared to play in early April and is practicing now, but there is obviously no spot for him in the rotation at this point. He's only actually played about a dozen games total in his two years in Denver(mostly injury, partly suckyness).
He is expiring after next season and makes 3.7 mill. Please take him back.

I thought there were talk that he was pondering retirement because of the injuries he's had

Re: Steven Hunter
Hi guys Sixers fan here - Just thought Id give you insight into Hunter -When he was with us he was only effective in the starting lineup and getting significant minutes- Coming off the bench as a backup center he had trouble getting into the flow into the game and while he wasnt terrible he wasnt great either - I believe it was his second season with us when we traded him to NO for 2 2nd rounders because he supposedly had a huge ego/attitude problem - The trade was voided when he didnt pass his physical because he some knee issues that were knwon but when he was with us there was nothing in his game that would make you think there was going to be trouble - then we traded him later for Reggie Evans and thats when he started having problems in Denver - he played very little I believe in his first season with them and his second he missed entirely - I believe his abilities as a shot blocker and his agility and speed would fit your game style but he still lacks any offensive moves and he isnt a great rebounder for a 7 footer - If I was you guys I would keep away because my personal feelings is that his knee is shot even if he is able to come back from it next season

Yeah his knees are totally effed up now. Shame. Remember that Game against the Grizz in the playoffs(Game 2, 05 first round I think) where he did a reasonable impression of Amare?

looking at this stats, he did post slightly better numbers in PHI so obviously has potential. 3.7 mil next year? not bad.
