OT: I don't expect Cleveland to lose a game until ECF

Post#1 » by campybatman » Fri May 8, 2009 5:43 pm

That is, when they travel to either Boston or Orlando. I think they'll sweep Atlanta... Another stumbling block fell for the Cavaliers. No Iverson. No Garnett or J. Nelson. And now there might not be J. Johnson.

Any reason to believe that Atlanta can do what Detroit couldn't: Win a game? I actually wanted Miami to face Cleveland instead. At least the Heat have Wade...

The Hawks deactivated forward Marvin Williams (wrist) and center Al Horford (ankle) before the game after both struggled in Game 1. Then Joe Johnson, who the Hawks were counting on to have a big game to have any chance, suffered what appeared to be a nasty right ankle sprain in the third quarter.

Johnson's availability for the rest of the series is now in considerable doubt, as he was wheeled to the X-ray room following the injury. The Hawks called Johnson, who had 10 points on 5-of-15 shooting before going down, doubtful for Saturday's Game 3 in Atlanta. But by the looks of it, it may well stretch longer than that.

I feel bad for hawks, I was expecting them to win 1 game at home, but doesn't look like it with all these injuries

LeBron is going to run them out of their own building. Smith and Bibby will need to be lights out for them to have a chance...

If Orlando beats us they might roll them as well. I know its weird but I don't think I will rooting for Cleveland if/when they meet the Lakers. Its like one of those - I want both to lose situations. This years Superbowl was similiar. Kurt Warner and the Cards were a SORRY team - the Pats kicked the crap out of them and they didn't even try - and I hate Big Ben.

Former NFL head coach Dennis Green's rant during a post game interview is apt even today.

I mean replace the references to Chicago with Cleveland, and it's the same thing. LOL! It's even more funnier when you consider that LeBron's nickname is "King James."

The Cavs are who we thought they were. That's why we took the damn court! Now, if you want to crown them, then crown their asses! But, they're who we thought they were. And we let them off the hook!

For laughs for those who haven't yet watched it. Just imagine that that's Mike Woodson and not Green speaking.

I can't see it....I'd rather Lebron and the Crabs win 10 rings than LA get one. I understand your point, but I'll root for the Eastern squad no matter what, so long as the Lakers are involved.

Magic are fully capable of beating the Cavs. We beat them 2-1 this season. In fact the loss was b.s. refs. Magic were up by 1 with under a minute to go...dwight was battling for position gets called for an offensive 3 second violaion which wasnt called all game for either teams....lebron on the other end charges into courtney lee who has his hands straight up and misses...refs waited for the shot to not go in and blew the whistle later...wth moment....then he hits both ft's...magic on other end fouled but no call on the strip...and lebron hits a crazy 3. twas a good game but fairly obvious refs had $ on it.

Why is Cleveland going to lose in the ECF? I don't see it. They're going 16-0.

Just would like to respond to that Orlando fans depiction of the game in Cleveland.

The Cavs were down 1, LeBron hit a 32 footer....we went up two..Dwight got called for a blatant 3 second violation(picture sequences show him entering the paint at 17 left on the shot clock...and still in at 16,15,14,13 and finally 12 seconds). LeBron got the questionable call on C. Lee, but in LeBron's defense...Lee leaned into LeBron and hit him when contesting the jumpshot. Lewis clunked a three. Game over.

I'm originally from Cleveland so they're my 2nd favorite team; but I can't imagine anyone rooting for the Lakers over Cleveland. There isn't much I hate more than the Lakers, and if there's any justice they'll never win a title after the Gasol gift. Meanwhile, no city deserves a title more than Cleveland - they've had nothing but heartbreak for 45 years. And LeBron winning a title and staying in Cleveland will be wonderful in terms of shutting up the media and the league in their never-ending quest to get LBJ to the Knicks.

I would rather see the league give LeBron his first ring than see the Lakers win their 10th...

Agreed. Personally I would like the Nuggets to win, if we don't manage it. They play gritty Basketball.

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing Denver win it...that'd be cool. Especially as vindication for Billups and the final condemnation of Detroit!

Dallas is the only other team I would've rooted for this season if Boston got eliminated. But, like Atlanta, Dallas could be done. Too bad. I wanted Kidd to get another chance at winning a championship.

Nice to see that Dallas didn't roll over and give up. Good for them. They'd kept their dignity.

Return to Boston Celtics
