KG Being Classless Thread

Post#1 » by Banks2Pierce » Mon May 11, 2009 5:56 pm

Forget about all his charitable work, never having any trouble with the law, and generally being praised for being a great human being off the court, KG is totally classless. What kind of team would want their injured emotional leader to be vocal and getting into the heads of other teams? I want our captain to show up when he feels like it and then make predictions to the media that a conference rival will make it to the finals, like T-Mac. Also, we are to assume that his talking is no help to him on the court whatsoever. The extra motivation can in no way affect the way he or his man plays.

Also, buying a few suits for each of the rookies on the team? Have some freakin' class KG!!

We don't want our captain to be emotionally invested in the game. We want him on the bench with a stoneface on or possibly not on the bench at all. Why doesn't he just stay home? Even though he can talk trash to the other team and get them all riled up, he definitely should not do this. We pay our players to have no emotional attachment to the game whatsoever. Players are not allowed to act like fans in the least bit. They aren't allowed to be happy for their fellow teammates.

Also, KG shouldn't be allowed to talk trash to people on the other team because he isn't playing. We are not allowed to remember the fact that KG owned Rashard Lewis in the past and we are to assume that he has no right to talk smack to him. We are to ignore the fact that D12 could've been talking garbage the whole entire game to KG and might've even had choice words for him after Rashard hit those 2 undeserved ft's.

So have some class, KG. It's not like you have won a ring or an MVP before. If you talk trash, you gotta back it up.

I know this is supposed to humorous but I got to be honest I am kind of done with the KG thing. It bothers the hell out of me either lace up the shoes and go out there or shut the hell the up. I love him to death but the sideline antics do nothing for me.

You have no heart if you don't appreciate KG's emotions on the bench. The man is involved, coahcing the players, celebrating like a fan, and offering encouragement. He's also grimey as hell, which is awsome.

Get some swag and live with it.

I don't have a problem with the emotions it is the **** talking and taunting opponents that does nothing for me. I guess I am glad he is there but it is killing me that he isn't on the floor and I would prefer he act like it is killing him ...

I still think he's coming back. I would never criticize a guy for not coming back from an injury when I don't personally feel it if you know what I mean.

Danny talking on WEEI definitely led some people to think that he was better than originally thought, though. I'm running out of things to think about this injury. I don't really get it. I do question whether rehab is prolonging the soreness. My very elementary opinion is that if he just stayed on his couch for 3 months that that thing would be pretty good by now.

As a Celtics fan I must admit that KG sometimes crosses a border that I'm not able to defend for myself. I love him on the court, but his antics are overboard. Then again, I like how he stirrs things up and makes other fans hate us even more ;)

KG is who he is and I don't think we win a championship without him being a borderline lunatic.

He's the teams emotional leader, he can't do that by sitting there all prim and proper. Personally I love it, the crazier KG gets the better, he lights a fire under people's asses, and if other team's fans have a problem with it **** them.

The knee might've gotten better quicker but gaining both thirty pounds and a fierce Oprah addiction would've put him out for even longer, so it's all for the best.

I never understood people who hate on him for it, especially if your a celtic fan... this is who the guy is, its why he normally keeps hinmself away from the sidelines because he cant control his emotions, as someone else said, if he wasnt this 100% focussed on the game, borderline crazy guy we dont win the title last season... you see big babys reaction after yesterdays shot?

No jumping up and down, ran straight back to the bench, looking at KG, and screaming "yeah mother ******" ... the team, especially the younger guys want to see Garnett there IMO, and anything that helps, even in the slightest is a good thing

let the man be crazy... and let other fans hate him, and us for it

we can only hope some of the players we face take his actions as personally as some of the fans

I am so happy he is on the sidelines. It was so strange during the regular season when he'd watch from the locker-room. I LOVE his emotion, his taunting, his fire. Have to respect the beast.

Couldn't have said it better myself...he gets under other teams (and their fans) skins, which is a good thing...

KG is intesity and it shows even on the bench. the title on this thread is misleading. But yeah he may go overboard at times but that's about it. I'll take an overboard KG on the bench any freaking day!

Magic fan stopping by here. I personally feel there's just a bad choice of words being used by and to other teams' fans as far as KG's behavior goes.

That KG is a very emotional player is definitely not necessarely a bad thing. You could even argue for the contrary, like some others in this thread have already done.

However...

I do feel he sometimes takes it too far. Playing a tough game or using some comments to intimidate someone is fine, and KG can definitely do that. Stuff like personal attacks or just illegal fouls etc don't belong on the basketballcourt IMO.

I'm no expert (and have no intent of becoming one lol) on the topic of to what extent KG pulls this stuff off and how big a badguy he'd be for doing so, but I think this latest part is what some other teams' fans were comminging on as far as the classless part. Saying he's classless altogether is probably a bit too steep IMO. The fact that he has a pretty wide fanbase and people appreciating him would state otherwise.

I think he's a very classy person, but can have pretty unclassy behavoir on the court at times as well when it comes to basketball ethics. Do you Boston fans feel that's a stretch as well?

If you go back in this thread you'll see some of find some of his antics over the top or just plain lame after a while...but overall we love his approach to the game. The rest of the country did, too, until he won...

It was meant to be humorous thread like the Rondo one it just went sideways.

Just to make my point clear I don't really care if he is taunting opponents and talking **** while he is playing the game I just have no time for it with him in his 3 piece, I feel like a father looking at his son in a prison jumpsuit, it is killing me and I don't need him acting like an ass on top of it.

I want my KG back.
