Start Farmar and bring Mbenga inplace of Bynum off the bench

Post#1 » by kevin_405 » Mon May 11, 2009 2:36 am

Phil made the cardinal mistake of not taking advantage of the energy and success of Farmar in the 3rd game..

I think Phil will start Farmar in place of Fisher and move Fisher in place of Vujacic who is missing open shots..

The 2nd change is see is Mbenga in place of Bynum for the rest of the play offs..

Disagree with both statements with you.

I did not see anything Farmar did to impress me this game. Yes he did have one good game, but he is not consistent. With issue with Bynum I rather have Powel in there, they do not have any big's that we cannot contain. Now that Yao is out, we can use Powel's offense and defense.

No and no. We lost b/c of lack of effort from EVERY damn player. EVERYONE!

Phil takes ZERO blame in this loss, players need to sack up and own up to laying a complete egg.

Although I completely agree with fareweatherfan, I think Mbenga could have been a sparkplug for us off the bench.

Now that Ariza is a starter, we don't really have a hustle guy on the team...it was really apparent tonight. Josh Powell has been in a funk. Bynum has lost his bearings. Farmar and Sasha are Farmar and Sasha.

We could have used a guy like Ronny, real bad.

We need someone with an edge. With an attitude. Give me da tacos.

He needed to start Farmar or that guy from Bobcats over Fisher. That might have changed everything game 4 from a tone-setting point.

Need to just throw lobs at Gasol and Bynum over their 6 foot 6 center.

That doesn't work when a 6 foot 6 center can box out Bynum's whimpy ass.
Sasha Vujacic = The Phail Machine = The Ring Blocker

Trade Sasha before he ruins the Lakers next season.

basically they went small and took us over. And again, phil opted for veteran play rather than match up with them. Plus their center was what 6'6"? how many mismatches could we have gotten..basically a lot! So why aren't they utilizing it...

Anyways, the rockets came up in front big so it was hard for the team to cope with that and come by. Everyone was on a shooting slump. Let's see how it goes next game..

When you're losing to a team by 30, there should be someone on the team willing and in position to foul everyone driving to the hoop.... Hard... Mbenga could at least have done that.

No way he starts but I can't see the harm in trying him when you're down by 3 decades...

Farmar was a bit of a spark... I don't know about starting him, though... You want your starting lineup to be comfortable with one another and well-oiled.

But bring him in a little sooner or instead of Brown. At least he matches their speed at the point a little better.

Farmar should start because like I said before the game and what Jeff Van Gundy, Marc Jackson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and so many others have confirmed Farmar is a good pg better then Shannon Brown and would do better as a starter. I have never used the term lol but I am gonna say it now lol at all the fans that think brown is better then Farmar.

The Rockets series we have a better matchup starting farmar.. because he is quick and match Brooks while defending and can break down Brooks on the offensive end opening up all sorts of mismatches.

If we get past the rockets i think Fisher and Brown will again come in favor against Billips..

Phil needs to start paying attention to these matchup issues.

Uhm. I have to disagree with the idea of Farmar starting and DJ being given some playing time. I don't think we have to make some changes. We just did not get momentum and rhythm the last game. We were too confident with Yao being out. When Bynum is in foul trouble and/or really struggling, Josh Powell will be assigned and given some playing time.

Kev.... I agree with a lot of your post, but you must have been drinking some gin & juice when you posted this thread, and why didn' t you share some with me. . On the serious side i do agree dj should be getting some minutes, but not in front of bynum. Dj should replace bynum or gosol when they struggle.

I don't understand what people see in Bynum.. his injury has clearly regressed his game both on the O and D...

Mbenga in the latter part of the season was making the midrange jumper and out hustling on the boards..

I bet u in practice Mbenga still kicks Bynums ass.. We should start looking at Mbenga or come finals it may be too late..

Because he's getting his rhythm back. Like i said it takes time especially trying to get your wind back going into the playoffs........plus Phil wasn't making it any better by taking him out the game when he made a little mistake.
