Clearly we are not better without Yao.

Rockets either have to control his minutes/games played to insure he is injury free for the playoffs.

I want to believe the reason why this happen is the following reasons
-lack of rest in the off season
-Rotation minutes are fked up (whole 1st qtr plus the next 3 minutes is insane)
-Relied on Yao too much because of T-mac getting hurt
-hitting his right knee and his body may have adjusted by putting excess weight on his left foot
-Yao refusing to sit, when he initially hurt his foot (which may have lead to stress fracture when he landed on somebody's feet and had 2 laker players step on his foot)
-Just being big.

Rockets need to do the following
-Pick up a big men who can play 10-15 minutes a game
-Rest Yao for @ least 10-15 games a season (games that we know we can win without Yao)
-Adjust Rotation minutes (stop the full quarter play)
-If he does get injured, lets pray its early in the season, so he is ready for the playoffs
-simply trade him for a really really really good deal...no garbage deals (I would hate to lose Yao, as I truly respect him (even more after the playoffs) and the fact he is one of the hardest worker on this team, who doesn't complain.

I want to believe 2 of his injuries was a fluke (the toe infection and the broken leg (somebody fell on it)

I want to also believe the last injury was caused by the fact he didn't want to sit and rest when he did get injured in Game 2. This man needs to learn, if its painful, its okay to sit and rest.

But the truth is, after this year, nobody will ever think Yao will be healthy.

Its disappointing that Rockets have to rely on 2 injury prone players to advance in the playoffs.

Honestly I don't care about Yao anymore. On a roll it was still slowmo ball.. And that kind of ball sux period..

Than you should watch the Suns or the Knicks because Slowmo ball is made up of 90% of the Rocket team. The only players who run on this team is AB, Lowry, and Wafer.

Hm... I see the Rockets are "better" without Yao.

Getting blown away by 40 points; Andrew Bynum had a good game the 1st time in the series; Gasol was like playing volleyball. Middel lane was wide open for Lakers penetration due to no shotblocker.

Hooray, the Rockets are "better" without Yao!

well I think its only the haters who think were better without Yao,

I may be a Tmac hater, but atleast I would admit were not a better team without Tmac

the other players do seem to play better without our stars dominating the ball, but thats what giving the starters rest/substitutions brining in the 2nd unit is for.

if anything lets give our bench more play time next year... give them play time, and help keep the injuries down for our starters

The thought that we're better without him is silly. If we're better playing without him against certain lineups, uh, just take him out and put in a lineup without him. Having him completely unavailable can't possibly make us better. Same with Tracy, unless somehow our players are more confident about their PT with them out and yada yada yada bs bs bs. (confidence does not produce ability)

Which history, you mean game 5?

It's not so much that Yao isn't playing, it's that Brian Cook and Chuck Hayes ARE. I'd feel pretty confident if we still had Dikembe.

Dude, should change your name to "Yao-Wack" and use " we are better without Yao" as your signature.
then yo can officially save time copying/pasting the same sentences over over again and go enjoy your own milk moment with your mom.

We are never better without Yao...the offense runs through him...he creates double teams and open looks...also alters a lot of opposing shots...GM 5 is a perfect example of this.

No, but depending on our supporting cast we might still be able to compete.

well.. offensively without Yao the team has to rely on the outside shot, that is not the best thing for long stretches of game..Defensively the team is much better on the pick and roll, and when Hayes on the floor is really good also in the post against big guys. Overall Yao gives something more for sure, but the way the rockets adjusted was incredible
