Why do we have to win this way??? Driving me crazy.

Post#1 » by exculpatory » Wed May 13, 2009 3:21 am

It was so much easier on blood pressure when we blew people out with the DPOY covering our asses.

But even without KG, why can't we play the way we did for the last 1/2 quarter for the entire goddam game DURING THE DAMN PLAYOFFS IN A MUST WIN GAME??? Why did we have to depend on Paul to carry us for most of the game and then for an extra boost from BBD, Marbs, and fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnally a little something from Ray Ray at the end????????

I was thinking the same thing. The Celtics were playing like this was an exhibition game for 40 minutes. When the starters came in for the final 5 or so minutes they finally started to play good defense.

The magic also started to miss. The were shooting 48% for most of the game. The started to get cold at the worse possible time.

Hey keep in mind that these games will be more memorable than the blow out in game 2!
Reggie stood out like a sore thumb no tattoos no agenda no chirping nothing Just a guy who could score at will He played college ball at Northeastern he replaced Larry as Celtics captain he belonged to Boston.
And I still miss him. Even now.

Fakers now up by 20 vs. Rockets sans Yao. Game already over. WE COULD USE A WIN LIKE THAT!!
Think we can do this on Thursday before we walk into the Lebron **** storm without KG?

I agree with you. As much as I wanna be happy on this out come, I still have the "what if" in my mind. These last two wins could have gone the other way. To me, we were just a luckier team (sorry fellow Celtic fans). The real Championship Celtic team did not lose a game at home and blew out their opponents. I guess one player (KG) can make a big difference.

Last year, we went on to win a championship even when we lost 90% of the road games. Can you imagine if we go on to win the championship by winning these down to the wire games? That'll be so awesome!

I love boring sports games. Nothing like the comfort of not having to watch the final quarter.

Well game 7 against the Cavs could have gone either way as well. If West nails that 3 in the final few seconds of the game cavs could have taken that series. Like I said there is a thin line between winning and losing.

Maybe it's because I'm only 20 and don't have the health concerns/blood pressure of some older fans, but I love an exhilarating end to a game. Win or lose, I watch for the entertainment of the game and it makes it that much more worth it when we win. Bragging rights and all. To be honest, I was actually disappointed when I basically didn't have to watch the final quarter and even final half of game six of the Finals last year.

....It's because we aren't as talented without KG and Powe. We have to rely upon veteran smarts and wiley plays to pull out close games. <g>

That pretty much sums it up. Right now, we are who we are, to quote Bill Belichick. Don't be mad - enjoy the tension...

Hopefully Rondo can give us more consistency in the near future.

These close games are definitely not good for our health...

It is worrisome how we just can not get in a rhythm for longer stretches and we only start playing desperate when we are down big. It would be nice if we got up to a quick start for once we always have to play from behind...

It's fun. Truth is on paper the Magic should be owning us - but the C's are one game away from putting them away. They are total underdogs. Why you expect a team that's undermanned to blow people out is beyond me. They HAVE to sneak up on teams..

They hang around - sneak up and then execute in the clutch.. It's teams like the Lakers that take games off. The c's are just trying to squeeze games out and play for pride.

I don`t expect them to blow teams out. I would just like to see a solid, in control performance from the start. And we are definitely capable of that, IMO.
