Turkish Super League Thread
Unnecessary thread, just for ElTurco, the only Turk who seems to be reading the Soccer board.
With 3 games remaining in the regular season, the league table is like this:
1) Beşiktaş (62)
2) Sivasspor (60)
3) Trabzonspor (59)
4) Galatasaray (55)
5) Fenerbahçe (54)
6) Bursaspor (54)
CL Spots: Beşiktaş, Sivasspor
UEFA Spots: Trabzonspor, Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe(Cup finalists)

This is their second straight loss, maybe they can't handle the pressure of becoming a champion.

Re: Turkish Super League Thread
that's what usually happens to non-big 3 teams. even the few times they look promising most of the season, they falter when it matters. last year same thing happened(not that i am complaining).
cup final this week should be a good one.

Re: Turkish Super League Thread
I want a double this season, but I'll definately be satisfied with just winning the League. Can Fenerbahçe win the cup after 25+ years? We'll find out tomorrow.

Beşiktaş won 4-2, hopefully this won't be the only trophy this season.

Hopefully Ibrahim Yattara and Trabzonspor win the Turkish League.
I was planning to watch the game, but sadly timing was not on my side, anyway congratulations to beşiktaş.

Thanks
Trabzonspor had their chance, but blew it.

Re: Turkish Super League Thread
couldn't catch the game but sounds like it was a good one. as a Gala fan, i always enjoy humiliation of Fenerbahce.
naturally i am rooting for Sivas or Trabzon but Besiktas being a champion isn't as bad as Fener being a champion

Video of all the goals in the game.
Aragones' 3 choices; not selecting Yasin for the squad, benching Semih and starting substitute goalkeeper Volkan Babacan were the keys for Beşiktaş' victory.

Re: Turkish Super League Thread
we don't have much to play for with UEFA cup place almost locked but we also much rather see Sivas as a champion rather than Besiktas. should be a great game.

Re: Turkish Super League Thread
It wasn't. Galatasaray deserved the game, but thanks to Mehmet Topal and our luck, we won 2-1. The ref was really bad though.

Re: Turkish Super League Thread
dumb mistakes cost us the game and cost Sivas championship. congrats on the very likely title.
on a side note, where would Besiktas would have been if they haven't signed Yusuf mid-season?

Re: Turkish Super League Thread
Any news on Kenan Hasagic? Is he back from his injure and can you tell me how well or rubbish he played in the Turkish League when he was 100%.
I also think Galatasaray, messed up for not going after Senijad Ibricic. Very promising young lad, can play striker and attack mid. Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim, Bayern Lever, Hamburg, and couple mediocre EPL clubs are offering strong money to him now. But Galatasaray almost had him in January if they offered a stronger money.

With Delgado's awful performance? Third or fourth. Yusuf has been essential this season, but the Ernst signing was just brilliant.

Hasagic is a below average goalkeeper in general, he played average since he returned, nothing special. Ibricic? I don't remember any news on him, and our media writes any possible transfer they can think of.

He is playing in the Hrvatska Liga (Croatian League) and he is being heavily chased by German clubs and some English clubs.
But in the Bosnian media I was reading that Gala wanted him but the offer wasn't strong so his club denied it.

PSG, Galatasaray, Olympiakos, Genova and Nantes all want Sanel Jahic and this is just one of many Bosnian players awaiting a great transfer window. He wants to move to Olympiacos or PSG according to this article. Honestly I would like to see him in Turkey but since he is doing so well in Greece, Olympiacos is the safer and better decision at the moment.
