Predict the stats if not trades happen
Mek 16 points 11 rebounds and 1.5 blocks- I can't imagine he doesn't work on his offensive game. How do you not if your him?
Diaw 13 points 7 rebounds 5 assists
Wallace 20 points 7 rebounds 1.5 blocks and 2 steals. Yes I think he will improve and become a 20 point scorer.
Bell 11 points Im sorry but I think he is gonna be on the decline
Felton 17 points 6.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds but 43% shooting-He will not win mip but people might think about it.
DJ 13 points 4 assists off the bench but with him and Felts being the best guards Larry will have to play them alot together
Radman 10 points off the bench

Haven't heard that before!

That being said...maybe LB can light a fire in him this summer.

Re: Predict the stats if not trades happen
i would predict the same as last year. i dont see any of our players making any changes in the offseaon to the point it will change their stats too much.
if wallace can stay healty all season he can easily get back to 18ppg. maybe raja comes down a little as dj goes up a little.
okafor and felton will be exactly the same... they have 4 and 5 years of history to back that up.

That's what I am hoping.
Stop being sarcastic, it's annoying. It was relevient to say it when we are talking about his scoring next year.

Although his stats on the season mirror those over his career, Felton has elevated his play during the Cats’ streak, as he seems to have found a happy medium between looking for his own offense and deferring to his teammates. Over the past seven games Felton has raised his numbers almost across the board, putting up impressive averages of 16 ppg 47.1% shooting, to go with 7.1 apg and 4 rpg (compared to his season stats of 13.5 ppg, 40% fg, 6.2 apg, 3.7 rpg) while registering 1.5 steals per contest—good enough for 18th in the league.

I'd say if we start with the roster we ended with and everyone stays healthy (mainly Raja...as Walt so eloquently put it, he's the guy who holds everyone...esp. Felton...accountable) Felton can get close to those numbers right there.
Three of his 4 years were with 2 of the most inept coaches the league has seen since...heck, has there been worse coaches? Since a PG is supposed to be the extension of the coach there's no way I can see how that doesn't have an effect.
IMO Mek could get a lot better too, if only he'd apply himself. Unlike Felton...he just needs to put the work in.

Re: Predict the stats if not trades happen
maybe felton can be more efficient and score more in less minutes. but i have to figure that dj will get more pt next year, certainly some of that will be at feltons expense of feltons minutes.
but, i hope i am wrong. i'd love to see ray bust out and blow up for 17ppg on mid 40s fg%.
i'd really love to be wrong about mek, but i doubt it. he'll be the same player from last year, which is fine, i guess.

Re: Predict the stats if not trades happen
DJ cutting into his minutes would be a good thing IMO (but we HAVE to get a quality backup 2 or else he'll be spending those minutes there)...a lot of his stupid mistakes come because of fatigue. If he's less tired maybe we'll see more quality minutes.
But you know me...the eternal optimist.

Which is why I think he'll never make an All-Star team. It looks like he would be looking at Dwight Howard's success and find someone to work with him to help him mirror what Dwight is doing. Instead he works on the body, which is okay, I guess. But it does absolutely nothing for his deficiencies at the stripe, and against those big men with a two-way game.
Someone needs to wake up the "offensive" half of his brain!
Edited to add- I don't want Mek to mirror Dwight at the stripe any more than he does now. But getting owned by those two way centers- THAT's got to change, and only he can do it. If he did, NO ONE on this board would ever tolerate the use of the words "Mek" and "trade" in the same sentence!

Re: Predict the stats if not trades happen
Continuing from above:
I saw Dwight last night on a replay of Game 6 on NBA TV. 20+ for points, and rebounds. 10+ OFFENSIVE rebounds.
I gotta say it. Dwight ain't laid back. He's letting it all go on the floor. And Mek, how many playoff games has he participated in, so far???????? I thought so.
Big guy, just because you are on summer break don't mean it's a vacation. That "face of the franchise" thing can change. Unless you earn it.

Re: Predict the stats if not trades happen
Because we all know Mek has the same physical abilities as Dwight Howard ...
How many playoff games has Wallace played in minus the scrub minutes on the Kings? How about Felton? I thought so.
And by "two-way" do you mean offense and defense?
Obviously, he's had his problems with Dwight the last couple of seasons, but after that, he's been steady against any other center. I guess, Shaq and Yao this season. At power forward, Chris Bosh has given him fits, as well. Not sure about anyone after that.
As far as stats go, I predict Okafor will average a double-double, again. And hopefully, he logs another 82 next season, which seems to not matter to most people on here. Stretching an hour before and after games to help prevent injury so you don't miss games ... seems like someone who cares about winning.
Okafor frustrates me at times, also. But I don't think it's his work ethic that holds him back from being the big-time scorer everyone wants him to be. Ofcourse, I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
Finally, any trade that makes Gana Diop our starting center, i'm not going to be too happy with, unless it brings great talent back.

Whatever improvement Okafor does make in the offseason, it will be countered by the fact that we will go to him less and less.

He doesn't warrant "going to" much more than he is already gone to IMO.
He's the least "go to guy" on this roster because he blows at the line, has no offensive moves, isn't aggressive and isn't powerful, explosive or quick.

Gana Diop.

I would say this would be more correct:
He is bad from the line, has only a few offensive moves, needs to be more aggressive and more powerful, lacking in explosiveness and quickness ... though, there are many centers in the league who are behind Okafor in those categories.
Humble yourself.

Re: Predict the stats if not trades happen
Just about everyone on this team has their offensive problems; that's one reason why we were one of the worst offensive teams in the league. Those obvious offensive problems that the other players have don't stop us from restricting their looks, so we shouldn't do it to Okafor, either.

Re: Predict the stats if not trades happen
I think its because Okafor was pretty miserable on offense this season - it seems like he was much better playing under Vincent (not going on stats, I don't care - going by me watching games.)
If Okafor could grow a pair and dunk instead of the typical go up soft for the layup, we'd be praising him as our franchise player. Of course, he'd have a max contract right now, so maybe its a good thing he hasn't learned it yet.
And yes, Hamilton, Felton needs to learn how to shoot and take high percentage shots and better distribute the ball.
