Blake Griffin Workout

Post#1 » by murray » Thu May 14, 2009 3:20 am

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2009 ... our-090513

Some of the highlights of Griffins workout in SF are:

1. Griffin is a good to great ball handler.
2. Griffin is a good shooter with great range for a big man.

Quotes:
Griffin looks like the closest thing to Superman the NBA has seen since Dwight Howard, and I really got to see that up close in his workouts with fitness trainer Frank Matrisciano, who has been called "Hell's Trainer." Whatever Matrisciano threw his way, Griffin took it, excelled at it and was waiting for more.

Everyone has been asking me about Griffin's height. I didn't see him measured. Coach Hill said he's 6-foot-10 in shoes, though if I were to guess, I'd say 6-foot-9. He was noticeably taller than Kenny Thomas, who's listed as 6-foot-7. Either way, I don't think it's going to matter -- regardless of how he measures, he's the No. 1 pick.

While people close to him say Griffin is a practical joker off the court (he once said he wanted to host "Saturday Night Live" someday), when it comes to workouts he is fiercely competitive, focused and anxious to push himself as hard as he can.

1st pick in the draft type workout it sounds like to me.

That was my first thought as well.

While I was reading the article "...he was noticeably taller than Kenny Thomas, who's list... Wait, what? What the hell I just read? Kenny? Kenny Thomas? From the Kings? Oh, hell naw, screw the workout. What the hell Thomas' ass doing in San Fran?" :eek1:

Exposure to get the veterans minimum after this upcoming season? Most action he has seen in a while for sure.

I literally laughed out loud when I read this.

Ya this just solidifies that Griffin will undoubtedly be the first pick.

Thats the way I took the article too. I mean, reading the article Griffin really is a petrie player. Good passing, shooting, ball handling, and a hard worker. It sure would be foolish to pass on him.

It's too bad we won't get the #1. Its not even like Im not trying to jinx it, Im just that confident that we won't get the first pick.

I think deep down we all know that, and that is why we are so quick to jump on the Rubio bandwagons and look for reasons why Griffin won't succeed.

Man this board can be a total buzzkill. Negative thinking will only achieve negative results.

Aww, you just counter-reverse jinx us now. Considering that Arco is on an ancient Indian burial site and how the NBA likes to screw with us just for the hell of it, we somehow drop to #4. Or worse forfeiting our pick . Thanks a lot genius. Image

I'm a Kings fan. Hoping for anything positive to happen is only going to disappoint me. I have learned my lesson.

Why not be PLEASANTLY surprised for a change?!

I could just see it now: Apparently the Maloofs and GM Geoff Petrie are in disagreement about who to go with for the #1. Petrie believes Griffin is the best choice but the Maloofs believe Rubio will bring more profit/marketing to Sacramento. They have run out of time and have forfeited their pick. The OKC Thunder select Blake Griffin!

Most people use cheap folding chairs for defense in workouts, Griffin uses an EXPENSIVE chair.

It is WITHOUT question that you take Griffin at 1 and Rubio at 2. Here's hoping we have a decision to make come Tuesday night.

After getting Salmons and Miller earlier this season from the Kings. He probaly think the Kings are a minor league affiliate of the Bulls

All kidding aside, if Griffin is a true 6' 9" with long arms and those skills he is the #1.

Hahaha. Everything I have heard, Griffin is a legit 6'9" at least, and in the draft camps he will show his incredible reach. I have really found nothing on the web to counter his height. I think this may just be a fans attempt to soften the blow if we do not get the top pick. COME ON 1st PICK!!!!
