ALL-NBA Team

Post#1 » by Agent0_MVP » Wed May 13, 2009 8:10 pm

I think its rediculous Neither of our All-Stars made the list even on 3rd team. I may understand is some for Caron, but Jamison DESERVED 2ND ALL NBA TEAM.

From the Heart of: Agent0_MVP!!!!!!!

Joining James on the First Team are Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic, Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks and Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat.

The All-NBA Second Team consists of New Orleans’ Chris Paul and Portland’s Brandon Roy at guard, San Antonio’s Tim Duncan and Boston’s Paul Pierce at forward, and Houston’s Yao Ming at center.

The All-NBA Third Team includes Denver’s Chauncey Billups and San Antonio’s Tony Parker at guard, Denver’s Carmelo Anthony and the Los Angeles Lakers’ Paul Gasol at forward, and Phoenix’s Shaquille O’Neal at center.

First team:
LBJ-Of course hes the MVP/2nd Defender.
Kobe- Same as always!
Dwight Howard- D player of year. How many 20 and 20's? Guys a beast.
D Wade- Outstanding year on a young heat team.
Dirk- Offense was great as usual and his team will lose is playoffs, but hes not the defender any of the above are!

2nd team:
CP3: Great PG, team didnt do well in playoffs, but without him they dont even make it there.
Roy: Nice season. Portland made it to playoffs. Be happy cuz he wont get it again next year.
Pierce: what can i say...
Yao: Nice season, but is easy when your 7feet tall.
Duncan: Im not sure if I take away dirk or duncan, I believe Jamison should replace one of them. Making the playoffs or not. You take any star off their teams and see what they do and you will understand my feelings!

3rd team:

Billups: WOW. I see him 3rd NBA team. Nuggets have a shot at the championship, and i think they will win it...ALL BECAUSE OF B B B BILLUPS.
TP: He had a nice season, nothing which you wouldnt expect!
Gasol: Kinda easy when u have Kobe beside you!
Anthony: All because of Billups!! You can place Jamison here too!
Shaq: As old as he is and as great of games he had some times this season...thats incredible!!

None of our guys deserve to be on those teams... We're dead last in the east, they didn't even make it last year when they reached the playoffs...

Pretty much all those guys on the list deserve to be on them... Except maybe Dirk being too high...

They have the guards right on all 3 teams.

As far as the forwards go, I'd definitely take Duncan on the 1st team over Dirk. I guess they threw Garnett out of the discussion because of all the games missed. With that the case, I can't really object to the rest of the order. It's really annoying that they keep listing Duncan as a forward though. He is clearly the center on that team.

I agree with taking Dwight over Yao. I'm not sure if Shaq deserves the 3rd team though. On the other hand, there are no other standout centers in the league so I guess he squeaks in by default. The only other guy who could arguably edge in ahead of him is Al Jefferson.

If it wasn't Shaq, then it'd probably be big Z, and the image/marketing-conscious NBA would sooner let AI run the players union than pass up the opportunity to sell the league's most marketable 36 year old star. and also... Shaq deserves it.

I think the only positions in contention are 3rd string PG and 3rd String PF. Deron Williams put up 10.7 apg but missed 14 games. I don't think missing 14 games puts you out of the running for an all-nba bid. Parker did score more, but i know i'd rather have deron on my team than parker. I guess parker is filling the "shooting guard" role here.

and 'Melo scored buckets like he's expected to, but i say it was no different than anything David West, Lamarcus Aldridge, and David Lee did this season. He made the team again on marketability alone. Bosh and to a lesser extent Jamison had better seasons.

We all know it would have been Haywood on the 3rd team had he been healthy.

That's about as good a vote as you can get. I'd swap Duncan and Nowitzki, but that's the only change that you could really make without expecting a ton of argument.

I think the best argument you could make for Jaimsion or Butler is 3rd team Forward, however I think the rankings were correct this year. Gasol and Anthony were both more consistent than they have been in the past.
True Anthony missed some games, but when he did play he was generally 15+ pts and 6+ rebounds with a few assists.
While Gasol did not have a great scoring average he was incredible efficient(56% FG 78% FT) and consistent. He also averaged almost 10 RPG.

It also helps the case for both players that their teams are still playing while the Wizards were the second worst team in the league.

I think the teams are nearly perfect (which is a rarity).

Jamison and Caron should definitely NOT be on any of the teams.

You're thinking of the All-NBA Parenting first team.
