That's a very good question. I also saw that Booz had signed up. He also isn't in the draft order.
Hmmm......

And who's 'SS'? Haven't seen anyone with that username posting in this topic. (Maybe BlackIce = SS ?? :dontknow: )
Also, JHos Hydro changed his username to Teddy KGB, so that should be changed in the 1st post too.

Also are we choosing teams and protecting players? Why do that with only 12 teams, I think drafting with no protections makes the most sense and makes the drafting a lot funner and more fair. Like what if I got LA and someone else got LAC? I protect Kobe, they protect Kaman?

ill take tim duncan then. since im first, this is like the NFL lol i can take who i want first haha.

if im wrong please correct me.

The problem there is we haven't designated teams yet. As posted previously:

CellarDoor wrote:Last time we had 16 teams, the 16 playoff teams from last year. Each participant had a team and was able to protect one franchise player to begin their team with. For instance: if you picked Cleveland you would protect Eric Snow (kidding). Now, i'm not sure how thrilled with this idea I am since it gives some teams (Cleveland, LA, San Antonio) huge advantages to begin with, but we can discuss this.

So you'd have to hope that San Antonio choose not to keep Duncan. If that happens, I'd be mortified.

The 12 teams randomly distributed should be teams with a player that can be the main guy on a true contender. Last time it was playoff teams, but some of them don't/didn't have that player.

Well I guess that is still up in the air, perhaps Cellar can shed some more light on that later.

I was under the assumption that the team selection order was to use RNGs to decide who can pick first, so essentially it's practically another draft lottery making little difference IMO. Perhaps there is a way he can grade the draft depth and assign a team selection order based on the strength of the draft, and who lucked out in the draft ordering?

More importantly, I believe you have three judges who are not impressed with a team simply having a superstar, and are much more concerned with how the team is built considering the major factors of team chemistry, handles, defense, fits, spacing, leadership, IQ etc

So in my case everyone can quite easily win this thing if they draft wisely.

Sure I agree but why not have an open draft with no protections? Just a suggestion not sure what everyone else thinks, we still use the twist we don't have to designate teams. Plus protections really hurt the draft with likely all of the top picks being protected.Thoughts?

What if a team gets its top pick in the '00 draft and the other high picks in the last two drafts? They build their team around Redd or Turk & rookies/sophomores? I'm not sure that's a good idea.

LOL, I didn't see you post in the thread so I assumed a mistake was made, my bad. In that case where am I in the draft order? We'll have to wait for Cellar, perhaps there was a mistake.

i think the 12 teams we should be able to randomly get are:

Lakers: Kobe
Cavs: Lebron
Magic: Dwight
Heat: Wade
Hornets: CP3
Spurs: Duncan
Celtics: Garnett or Pierce
Rockets: Yao?
Toronto?: Bosh
Utah: D-Will
Dallas?: Dirk
Toss up: Phoenix: Amare / Blazers: Roy / Philly: Iggy

randomize those teams some how.

Also, think we should add a few more years, just to give us more options, like kobe was drafted in 1996 so that year should be aloud too, since nash, ray ray, J.O, marbury, blah blah were in that draft. Also, i think you forgot Black Ice, so one more year = one more team.

^ just my 2 cents.

Those should be the teams IMO. Of course the teams should be free to pick who they want to keep as their cornerstone
