I am sick and tired of all the excuses. He had at least 20 completely open shots in the last few games and he missed 90% of them...Unthinkable..

The fact is he needs to step up! No excuse is going to cut it! And he knows that!

Ray is struggling at a bad time. But let's not forgot what in did in the finals last year. Let's not forget the Chicago series and the 51 point game. Ray is getting older and all these minutes can't be helping him. Same goes for Pierce. He isn't the player he was. It happens with age.

Ainge gambled on Tony Allen in a big way. Where is TA now. To get more use and mileage from Pierce and Ray, we need to go out and get a wing player that can actually play. We need a player like Matt Barnes or Trevor Ariza that can play about 20-25 minutes at the SG and SF postions. Both Pierce and Ray Allen took tired. Not making any excuses for them, but they've both played a lot of minutes the last two seasons. Win or lose, I'm proud of this team.

The IQ of this thread is sinking with all of the Ray-hate...Pierce stank up the joint for most of the Bulls series (while Ray was stellar) and he got a pass...why the double standard?
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Yeah, Ray Allen's contract wins games against Golden State in January. In the playoffs, Ray Allen's contract chokes his butt off.

How about the game winning drive vs. the lakers in the championship where he drove past vujicic?
How about the shot in the Bulls game over Noah? Give me a break.

Everyone is so day to day on this board. what have you done for me lately...we probably shouldn't even be in the 2nd round if it wasnt for Ray...We probably shouldnt be competing with Orlando either but we are...Ray expires next year so all you haters can have your wish and be done with him....yeah he has played like **** but it happens.

Paul and Ray played like a gazillion minutes the past two seasons what do you expect. Do you ever assume guys are sucking it up and playing hurt? His whole damn leg is wrapped, god knows how many injuries paul has right now. They are both sucking it up and giving it their all and for that i'm content where we are now. I don't bitch after one bad series.

I agree...we certainly wouldn't have won 62 games without Ray...he was without a doubt the best player on the team all season...

Paul was garbage for most of the Bulls and we heard not one peep on this board about benching him or anything...Ray has some bad games and he needs to go? Please....

Agreed. Ray and Paul are both capable of being dominant, as we've seen. However, you also gotta hand it to the Magic for doing a great job chasing Ray around. These guys don't give him any breathing room and that's what he needs to get his shot.

We aren't in this series without Ray's performances last series and at least wouldn't have game seven at home without him in the season. Get off his nuts. I don't think I've seen him get a single open shot this series.

Orlando is doing a good job on them on D, no doubt...but people on here are like the Stan Van Gundy's of message-board posting...at the first sign of adversity, they want to dump players!

Why can't people open their eyes and see what's going on. The Magic have decided that Ray Allen is not going to beat them. R. Lewis said in the paper today that there is one guy on Ray at all times and the defender is told not to leave Ray at all. They are leaving Rondo & Big Baby open and doubling Pierce and Ray Allen. Howard stays on Perk. It's a great strategy. This is where not having KG on offense hurts the Celtics.

Bottomline, Rondo & Big Baby are the prove it to me guys. The Magic are not going to let Pierce & Ray beat them. If Rondo & Baby have good games in Game 7 the Celtics will win, if they don't then the season is over.

Exactly. When Baby does nothing and Rondo is turning the ball over all night, we can't win. Especially Rondo. He can't pound the ball all night and shoot 36%, as he's doing for the series, if we want to win.

If you have to wide open to score then you shouldn't be in the league. Why doesn't he make easy buckets for himself. Or I don't know cut to the basket and have rondo nail him with a pass in stride fora layup? That would be nuts though just keep on take 25'+ shots. That is how you get going.
